your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
As we live in the area, been walking past this place for over a year now and for some reason never gone in. I suppose it looks a little pokey from the outside, bit like someone's front room.
Anyway, my wife's parents were visiting so we decided to try it out, following reading the positive reviews on this site. What a revelation: the place is much larger when you enter and goes back for some time. Nice decor and very helpful staff.
The food was simply superb, couldn't be faulted, and although the wine list looks a bit daunting, the helpful details on each bottle really help you make an educated choice. It wasn't cheap, but we did think it represented reasonable value for money - the wine was so nice it did bring the total up somewhat!
Overall, the best local restaurant we have found and we will definitely be back.

I went there the other day with a friend. Among other delicious things, I ate a dish of squid, samphire, potatoes and olives that was just about the nicest thing I have eaten for years. Beautifully simple. Exquisitely executed.

This is a tremendous restaurant with good atmosphere and fantastic food. I had turbot ravioli with mussels and squid, which was beautifully cooked, and then a lamb dish in a delicious sauce. My wife has rabbit pappardelle with a lovely, gamey flavour. All the food had delicious deep flavours, and the portions were reasonable. And I like the way that every dish has a recommended wine available by the glass - ideal if you don't want to drink the same wine all the way through.
My only criticism is that service was very fast - too much so for a relaxed meal. But other than that it was fantastic.

I enjoy eating here. There is always a buzz and the food almost always hits the spot. The wine list is fantastic offering great wine for all pockets.
A very good alrounder, that won't let anyone down.

We went here Monday lunchtime, and although the restaurant was very quiet, as expected, the atmosphere was spot on. The service was excellent and friendly, without being intrusive. The food was marvellous. We shared a starter, the pugliese vegetables, which were delicious, as was the bread. The rabbit and monk fish medallion dishes we chose for our main course were delicious, and it was clear that they were prepared with fresh ingredients, and the presentation was perfect. I would definitely recommend a side order of rosemary potatoes! I chose the raspberry tart for pudding, which I would definitely opt for again, were it not for the other delicious-looking puddings on the menu. The raspberries were fresh, and the pastry was buttery and had a good bite. The simple vanilla ice cream was presented beautifully. The wine specified on the menu to accompany the monk fish matched it beautifully, and the end of meal espresso was as you would hope an espresso to be if you've ever had one in Italy! The Enoteca is not cheap, but it certainly is excellent value for money, and you won't be hurried through your meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Couldn't disagree more with the last review. We have lived in the area for years and thought we'd try it on the basis of the Zagat guide naming it the best Italian in London. Both my wife and I agreed that it was the best meal we have had in the last year. From the selection of breads onwards the food was delicious, interesting, and completely unpretentious. The service was slightly formal but very professional and the wine list enormous. We left feeling so satisfied and having had a fantastic evening.

Pretentious overpriced with small potions of indifferent food, mediocre but expensive wine and inadequate service. Will not ever go again

Enoteca continues to surprise and delight me. It's fantastic to find a local restaurant which continues to maintain such high standards. No wonder this gem has won awards. Long may it continue.

Overpriced Food, minute portions and pompous service; food not hot enough eighter. When an error was made by waiter he argued instead of trying to correct mistake. A rip off place relying on fact it is busy with Yuppies who would rather pay up than complain.

Fatastic food, worth every penny in my opinion. Slightly daunting wine list. Though when we did finally choose with a little help, we were not dissapointed. Everthing from the perfectly cooked john dory, in a light lemon sauce, to the porcinni ravioli, with a beautiful buttery sage sauce .Everything is a taste sensation The atmosphere is warm, and relaxed, the staff wonderfuly welcoming. If you love good food, without the pretencious nonsence, this gem comes highly reccomended.
