Went to Cocoon twice in the past few weeks!

Had an amzing time on both occasssions.

The first time was for lunch during london restaurant week, me and my friend had a bento box, they were perfectly presented and so colourful, the boxes lived up to how they looked - they were absolutely delicious. The serivce was fantastic, the staff were friendly and explained the bento box to us.

I also went for dinner, my experience was equally brilliant, the food and staff again were great and we then went to the bar which was really funky and the cocktails were out of this world!

Would definitely recommend Cocoon

Interesting place. The food is OK, the service acceptable. A little noise.

We went to Cocoon last week as part of London Restaurant Week. The food was excellent but the service was dismal.

We arrived at the upstairs restaurant area to find a crowd of customers all waiting to be seated, with no staff anywhere in sight. After a wait of several minutes, a member of staff appeared and began checking off names against reservations.

When we asked for the London Restaurant Week menu, the waiter had not heard of it. The waiter was obviously working flat out but, as far as we could see, there seemed to be only 2 waiters covering the whole restaurant and it took him 45 minutes just to take our order. It also look a ludicrously long time for our cocktails to arrive.

All in all, the whole operation looked a complete shambles. From our table we could see the ever growing number of people left unattended at the entrance to the dining area, while the front of house staff seemed to stride aimlessly back and forth through the dining area (without actually showing anyone to their table).

Fortunately the food (we had the Vegetarian bento box and the Japanese bento box) was excellent, otherwise we would have been writing a complaint to the restaurant rather than writing this review.

This is the first time I have been compelled to write a review of a restaurant on line. I went to Cocoon on Friday witha friend with the hope of having a fun night out, and I was sorely disappointed.

The room and decor are deeply tired, everything looked scruffy and out of date, the lighting was unpleasant and the layout confusing.

The menu is deeply uninspiring. We ordered a selection of sushi, sashimi, dim sum and tempura only to have everything we ordered arrive at the table at exactly the same time. The food was deeply mediocre when compared to Nobu, Roka or Hakkasan who all charge similar prices, where we eat regularly. The rock shrimp tempura for example was soggy and tasteless.

We ordered cocktails form the bar menu. I am a breastfeeding mother of two, and had 3 martinis, which is a fair amount of alcohol for me (sadly) to consume only to leave the restaurant stone cold sober. At £9 each to serve cocktails with little or no alcohol in them is outrageous.

The bar and restaurant were definitely not somewhere I would want to spend any more time and really did feel second rate when compared with other lively London nightspots.

Had an extremely good lunch here, went for the bento box and it was delcious, our waitress was excellent explaining what each dish was, it was all so tasty and satisfying.

Since lunch went back with a group of friends and could not fault it, the service was great and not over the top, the food again was fantastic and the cocktails delicious. The bar area was buzzing and the restaurant was full.

I would deffinitely recommend this restaurant

Interiors, dated 70's kitch with a little glitz. Waitors are more concerned with their hair gel than the clients' orders. Full of underdressed, botoxed and quite frankly rather dissapointing people. Menu looks good but actually you get a better sushi! Bill over a grand, and still hungry at the end of it!

What use to be a cool, trendy place with a nice crowd has now turned undeniably bad, something partially due to its location (just off Regent Street) and the increasingly relaxed door policy. Went there for drinks, and although it was a quiet evening in the bar area they kept raising the volume to an extent that you had trouble talking.

The pricing of wine also is completely off the mark for a venue of this standing. Would not recommend this unless you're out of options.

If you have money to waste, Cocoon is your place. I visited the restaurant for dinner lastnight. Great decor I thought... this looks good. From then on it went downhill. My husband ordered a Martini which arrived in a glass half full of (not quite cold enough) martini topped off with 3 mushy olives on a cocktail stick. After pointing out the glass was lacking in the martinin dept, they returned it slightly fuller, and slightly weaker... it had obviously been watered down. We ordered a few starters to share, a couple of mains and some side dishes... WHICH ALL ARRIVED AT THE SAME TIME!! A mediocre meal followed by a hefty bill left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Definitely an experience we will not be repeating.

Fun place to visit with a group of freinds, might be too loud for anything more romantic. The food is quite good but the starters have to be the smallest in London. Lamb chops are a mush!

I went to Cocoon and was amazed by the quality of the food and service. Try the ebi sushi roll, beef gyoza and the chilean sea bass. The place was crowded, it did take us some time to get our cocktails but after trying the nobara cocktail we understood why! Cocoon is a must go place!
