Mamma Mia East Sheen

I have visited Mamma Mia a number of times since I moved to the area recently, and have found it to be a very decent local restaurant. The food is not spectacular, but that is no complaint - it is consistently tasty, prepared with fresh ingredients and with generous portion sizes.
The owner and the staff are very relaxed and friendly, although my only issue would be that they are occasionally a bit too slow - one Sunday lunch turned into a 3 hour marathon as they were understaffed, and seemed unwilling to pick up their usual laid-back pace. However, if you are not in a hurry this is a small problem.
Worth a visit.

Last week my husband and I ate at Mama Mia's, and it was delightful. A laid back atmosphere, friendly welcome and excellent food. Especially the beautifully cooked asparagus. We had a lovely evening, relaxed and well-fed.
I was therefore taken aback to read a highly critical review of Mama Mia's on this website, complaining that the place was filthy and the food awful. Either there has been new management since that reviewer visited. Or, which seems rather likely, it was someone being spiteful who wants to damage the restaurant's reputation.
Judging by the number of people eating at Mama Mia's, especially at the weekends, I think it is probably someone being vicious.
Thanks.
