mmmm yum. Went there on saturday night. Great cosmopolitans, very friendly staff and ginormous portions of tasty food. It's hard to choose what to have but ask the staff they are really helpful. Pulled pork and steak are recommended, caesar salad spot on. Like it!

Four of us went to Bodeans Clapham on a recent Saturday night and I have to say it was better than expected. The ribs were great! V tasty indeed. The side orders were perhaps a little stingy, and we didn't try the salads, but I reckon stick to the ribs and you should be fine. We found pleasant if slightly slapdash service (there was a mixup - perhaps they should try writing stuff down), an interesting choice of music (no chart pap, for once) and a lively but not overly loud atmosphere. At £30 a head including wine and desserts I say Yum.

I agree entirely with the last review - what once was a genuinely enjoyable American diner experience has transmogrified into a disgruntling and very protracted experience: I booked a table for one Saturday night in February at 19.30 but weren't seated until 20.15...we were still waiting to be served at 22.00 and when the food came half of it was cold and the half was the wrong order. Our drinks orders were repeatedly forgetten about. The staff are clearly immensely stressed & overworked so it wasn't an easy decision to make but we ultimately withheld the discretionary tip. I only hope that the management take the necessary steps to help it return to it's former self.

Hi. I started going to Bodeans not long after it opened when it was relatively unknown. The food and service was great. Unfortunately, these days more often than not the experience is poor, perhaps they are now a victim of their success. Three out of the last four occasions we have been there they had run out of food and there was only a few meals available from the menu (imagine a place famous for its meat not having any ribs, steak or pork - the only meat they had was a burger and that was terrible). On the other occasion we went they must have been in the process of running out of food again and had started to ration it out. When we complained to the staff they just shrugged their shoulders and couldn't have cared less, though to be fair at the end of our dinner they did give us a complimentary shot each (but I suspect that was the waiting staff's way of ensuring they got a tip). A real shame because once upon a time Bodeans was good.

Bodean's Clapham is pretty different to it's parent restaurant in Soho, but it's just as good! Popped in here for lunch on Saturday and had a Jumbo Soho Special sandwich with fries and coleslaw, mmmmm tasty bbq meat. Remember to add lots of hickory sauce! Also remember that at lunch time the soda has free top ups, the waitress might forget!
Bodean's is the best thing in Clapham, though that's not saying much is it? Strongly recommended none the less...

I ate at Bodean's yesterday evening after having heard rave reviews from a friend....I chose the baby back ribs "by itself" (which actually comes with coleslaw)which were tender & quite tasty albeit very dry. My partner ordered the "ribs menu", which arrived as a huge (dry) rack of ribs with 2 measly sides of coleslaw and fries. When I questioned the waiter about the measly side dishes, he rather rudely replied "you got what you asked for.....". Unfortunately for me, the whole experience was marred by a rude, complacent waiter and I certainly won't be going back in a hurry - plenty of other eateries on the high street waiting with a smile and good service worth it's discretionary 10%!

I recently ate here for lunch on a saturday.
Service was very slow, we waited for over 40 minutes for food to arrive.
That said food is good "American" fare and waiting staff very friendly.
We did have one scary moment, when a picture fell off the wall and landed directly on the head of a lady seated next to us, showering her and her dinner companion with glass.
All in all a nice place, just watch out for the falling artwork.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
