went to this bar/grill monday 6 september for dinner with my wife nice atmosphere great food service was excellent except from this girl who was not doing anything only bossing around with this guy who was great and very professional and hard working and pleasant. he is very customer focussed and has a perfect customer relationship we had a chat with him about france he got very good knowledge in food and wine and very interresting and pleasant to talk to. he really desserve to be promoted and he you want an advice don't keep this girl in your company she's not worth it. i put a 10 mark for the service only due to this french guy, if the service would have been done by the girl i would have put 0 mark

I enjoyed a very pleasant Friday evening recently at the Nova Bar and Restaurant, the cocktails were incredible! Strawberry martini's and the Mojito's come highly recommended they were sublime, really fresh ingredients and the waiting staff were excellent very attentative and they couldn't do enough for you. I can also recommend the starter of traditional fish and chips served in an imaginative 'ye old chippy shop' presentation. All in all a wonderful way to unwind on a Friday evening thanks Nova Bar - oh..the ladies water closet had the most amazing hand soap and skin lotion products called 'Bee Kind' lemon grass and honey simply heaven!

I had one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had here with friends last week. Upon arrival one other table was seated, and they left within 20 minutes, so we assumed we had the two table staff and one barman to ourselves.
No wonder it was so quiet; here are the salient points of the service:
- When we came to order the camembert starter to share, we were told they didn't have any camembert. How strange, we thought. They could even have sent one of their excess staff next door to M&S to buy one, we wouldn't have cared, but fancy not having a key ingredient like that in stock!
- Eventually, 50-odd minutes after arriving, bread was brought to our table.
- We were abandoned halfway through giving our first drinks order, which I though was strange. This ended up with half of us having to order our drinks once the waitress returned with the first half of the order.
- We had one bottle of red and one bottle of white with our starters. When we attempted to reorder, firstly the white-drinkers were told that they had had the last bottle of that bin. Ok, not too much of a problem. When we ordered a second bottle of the red, the waiter disappeared. About 10 minutes later we managed to catch sight of him again and asked for the bottle we had ordered (he apologised for forgetting to bring it). Again a 5 minute disappearance. Upon his return, he told us that there was no more of that wine in stock. Beginning to see a pattern emerging?
- Further to this, when our main courses were served, there were two problems. First, the lamb steak ordered rare was served very well done. This was taken back and re-served correctly, but this frankly shouldn't have been served in the first place.
- Second, two people had ordered a pork dish, but only one arrived. Upon realising the mistake, in a bizarre reversal of social norm, the waitress served the one pork meal to the gentleman who had ordered it, not the lady. She then had to wait 15 minutes, watching everyone else (except the orderer of the lamb steak above) almost finish their main courses before she got served.
One wonders how none of the staff noticed that they had prepared only 6 main courses for 7 people until the point they were being put on the table!
My friend found the offer of a "complimentary" side salad as recompense for this to be insulting; I have to agree.
- Finally, when it came to pay, we tried to split the payment over 5 or 6 cards. However, it turns out that you can't allocate an arbitrary amount of payment to each card. Oh no. In order to split the bill at all you have to choose specific items from the check to put on each card! Incredible.
The one redeeming feature of this meal (aside from the company) was that we had a 50% discount card. However you would have to pay me to go back there. The poor service would have been unacceptable but understandable had the restaurant been full and busy. But we were the only people there! How three staff could pay so little attention to a party of seven is just baffling.
Notes on scores - Food rating of 50% represents how many times we actually got something we ordered. When the food came it was generally acceptable. Value for money rating takes account of the discount. Had we paid full price, this would have been a zero.
