Poor service, overpriced, and the vegetarians in our party weren't allowed to choose from the five vegetarian mains on offer - they were told the chef would make something and were brought bowls of salty mush and plain rice. The mezze was nice though.

We are fans of Lebanese food and had been recommended this restaurant for its great food. Upon arriving we were not made to feel welcome and throughout the meal the service was bad - the worst service I have received in a long time. The food was average - I have eaten at much better Lebanese Restaurants. I find it hard to find a positive about this restaurant!!! I would not recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Lebanese food. The prices are average. I still cannot get over the bad quality of service we received.

Fairuz is one of my favourite restaurants in London. If you like big, flash, minimalist, slick dining palaces then this isn't for you. It's a cosy, unpretentious, friendly, perennially busy neighbourhood place – though it's nowhere near my own neighbourhood. It's not for seeing and being seen, it's for relaxing over a really good meal.
The mezze are exceptionally high-quality, the lamb mechoui is to die for and there are some great vegetarian main courses. Overall the food is very fresh-tasting and flavours are imaginative and never repetitive. I've never been disappointed on a visit here.

My girlfriend and I went to Fairuz for saturday night. Before going
we looked at the reviews on this site. They were pretty good : good food but the service could be better. I think our experience was quite similar.
The food was at the level of what we could imagine. Great variety of cold and hot starters, good kebabs. I think the list of main dishes was a bit short though. The bread was definitely not as good as other places I've been.
As for the service, I think it is indeed the weak point of this restaurant.
First the setup. Our table was not stable, my chair had a fairly big hole and I was a bit worried I could get through it. Changing table was not really possible.
In general we had the impression there were 2 sorts of the clients: the first timers and the regulars. As first timer we did not get much attention. Also a fairly small portion of bread and no refill.
Also in most lebanese/turkish restaurants I've been there is a sweet at the end. Here nothing. Not a big deal but it just adds up to the list of things that could be improved.
Overall I think this restaurant is worth a try but this is not the best middle-eastern we had.

We have experienced fairuz restaurant last week for the first time. When we arrive, we thought it was a bit of a small place, like we were a bit crammed. For a Tuesday, that place was full...so a good sign. And we were not disappointed.
We asked our waiter to choose some mezze for us to share and everything was excellent. Some mezze I haven’t tried before like Fried Green beans with garlic, meat and aubergines with mint yogurt. The usual mezze (hummus, taboule…) were very good quality. The 5 of us did manage to finish everything but we struggle a bit as portions are generous.(Go with an empty stomach)
Everything was just wonderful, intimate atmosphere, service was professional, efficient, discreet and friendly, look they enjoyed their work, and the enormously friendly waiter was just fantastic
I've dined at many Lebanese restaurants in London and the cuisine here is by far the best. Will definitely visit again.

Some of the reviews here are so much at odds with my own experience of dining at Fairuz. I've been a regular since it opened - that I can hardly believe they're genuine.
I have eaten here many, many times and have never been disappointed. I cannot understand the reviewer who said the waiters were rude, first said "worst table in the restaurant, directly adjacent to the constantly opening door" then "when our food finally came" then "he was sorry for the wait caused by the kitchen" then "When we told him it was not the kitchen"
Fairuz staff - if anything, they are very helpfull, friendly, polite and lovely.
although when it is really busy you do have to wait for your meal.(Reviewers THIS IS NOT A WAITER MISTAKE)
The service is well beyond the level of a place in London. Go here you won’t be disappointed.

Though the food was extremely good, the service was so horrific that we will never go back again. As a chef, I commend the attempt at the kitchen to save the restaurant, though as good as the food was, it cannot even come close to attempting to remedy the poor service.
Though we had reservations, we were sat at the worst table in the restaurant, directly adjacent to the constantly opening door. The wait staff could not be bothered to answer any questions about the dishes or wine and when our food finally came, no one ever stopped by to ask how things were or if we needed anything.
At the end of the night, after much contemplation if we should say anything, we first paid and then asked to speak to the manager. It turns out that even though it was a Friday night, there was no manager on duty and our waiter said he was in charge. When we told him how unhappy we were with the service, he proceeded to argue with us about how he did not do anything wrong and how he was sorry for the wait caused by the kitchen. When we told him it was not the kitchen, he continued to argue that he did not do anything wrong.
When we left the restaurant, we realized why I cook more at home than we go out to restaurants. Cleaning up after making dinner is far better than dealing with rude, inconsiderate staff that are not in the business for the love of food..

We have been a regular to Fairuz for the last two years (almost twice a week), and we have never been let down. We have almost ten friends who also dine at Fairuz and never failed to have a great time there.
This is our favourite lebanese restaurant in town. We always been offered very tasty toasted lebanese village bread with a aubergine yogurt dip with garlic and pomegranate seeds which is amazing while looking at the menu.
It is consistently excellent, the food always excellent, the service extremely pleasant, courteous, competent, very helpful, and we never felt rushed. And you can easily see that on the faces of other diners as as main waiters spend alot of time talking to customers at every table.
For us it's that the staff that makes this place. (Trust me once you go there for a second time they will easily remember you name and where you was seated last time , even most of what you ordered, in case you forgot the name of some of the dishes you ordered first time, even after few months they will still remember)
I noticed that some reviews here are so much at odds with my own experience of dining at Fairuz, that i can hardly believe they're genuine. We got to understandt that this is a small and extremely busy place so you need to be abit patience, and if you have any concerns speak to the waiters and they
will be more than happy to help and to make you fell a valued customer.
Fairuz is highly recommended. IT IS A MUST TRY

Been to Fairuz a few times and really enjoyed it even if it is uncomfortable in some seats. Food being excellent.
Last time visited - took so long to even get any service we just left. Was not so busy either. Main waiter couldn't care less.
Since the place is in various guides I guess they will always be full of tourists locals beware...
