Fairuz

I went to Fairuz last night for dinner and all I have to say was that the waiter ruined our evening. He was rude beyond all reason, it was as if he was doing us a favour serving us. Frankly we were appalled by him. He did not smile once and we had to ask each question 4 times (e.g: is the meat oven-baked or grilled) before he could grace us with an annoyed reply. When we finally managed to order the food took ages to come but we were so shocked and upset by the service that we lost all appetite. All I remember was that the meat was ok but very salty, the hummus too sour and the tabouli unacceptable. None of us four will ever return there. The food was nothing exceptional and I still don’t understand how they still keep that waiter there – he is a customer repellent.

One of the best Lebanese restaurants in London, no doubt!

Although small, Fairuz has a very good selection of cold and hot mezze including things like Shankleesh and Raw Kibbeh which are not regulars at other Lebanese places. I had the Lamb knuckle for a main and it was beautifully cooked.

Definitely a place to back again!

I am absolutely in love with this restaurant, the food and service is amazing. I have been coming here regularly for approx 7 years and have always had an enjoyable experience. i highly recommend this place to all. yummy!

We've passed this place many times and salivated at the great smells and finally, tonight we gave it a try.

I thought it very nice that when we sat down there was a bowl of fresh salad veggies to munch on and some good olives.

The food was good, not outstanding. Humous portion for appetizer was skimpy for the price--we have been to many middle eastern restaurants and have always been able to share an order of humous.

Main courses were tasty if a little oversalted.

Service was ok, not great. Same with atmosphere.

The clincher came with the bill. We were charged a 3 quid cover for the olives and veggies. When I complained to the waiter he said that the cover was clearly written in the menu. The menu which didn't arrive till we'd munched our way through all the olives and half the veggies. Never even noticed mention of this cover. Sneaky and unreasonable. Just because of this we'll never go back. If the food was phenomenal it would almost be forgivable but it wasn't.
