We were here on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was full and buzzing. Very inviting with all the candles and it being so cold outside.

Food was delicious and very well priced, decent size serves too and excellent house wine. We shared a starter and I really enjoyed the smoked chicken salad and the tarte tatin.

Service was good especially considering that they were busy and the staff put up with us finishing our meal late and drinking until midnight while they were closing up.

Excellent value for money, three of us shared a large mezze starter, and had two courses each plus 3.5 bottles of wine for just over £100 including tip.

Will be back again.

Great restaurant! Went there for lunch and had a fantastic meal - 2 courses for £7.90 with many different dishes to choose from (also caters for vegetarians) and both of my chosen dishes were brilliant, and they got the portion sizes just right. Not just your usual French food, but some unusual dishes too! The restaurant was bustling with a busy yet relaxed atmosphere, and although it was very popular, we were served within good time. Some of the tables of two were quite close together which would put me off a little, but you could always ask specifically for a table on its own when booking. It has an authentic, rustic feel with the decor. I was really impressed - friendly staff, excellent food, great location just off of Oxford Street, and reasonable price for central London - I recommend!

I've been several times to this restaurant. I last took a friend for his birthday and we had a great meal and drinks. The service is not top class but ok it varies on the staff. My toddler was generally welcomed (and thoroughly delved into mussels). I had a small problem with the bill once but it was rectified by another member of staff quite quickly. If you want tap water you must specify because they don't usually ask. Its worth going in a group of 3 or 4 to get a balance of veg without leaving lots. A great place to get some proper nosh especially at off peak times.

Another excellent dining experience at lovely Pierre Victoire. I have been a regular

almost 10 years now and this place never fails to impress me and all the people I have taken there.

My personal favourite Steak & Frites washed down with their Chilliean red.

Keep up with good work guys....

I am quite surprised by the positive reviews here. I used to go to PV in Oxford where I have only good memories of cosy, tasty meals served by friendly staff in a buzzy but relaxing atmosphere (and excellent value for money). We booked PV in Dean Street expecting a similar experience.

On arrival we didn't get the chance to say we'd booked as we were quickly ushered into a table, dirty, plastic menus slapped down and then left until we waved someone down to serve us after some time. We we served by three waiters at different times all of which didn't know if and what we had ordered, the one serving the wine pulled a face for 'hassling' us to serve the wine we'd ordered.

The food was 'dumped' in front of us which was pretty tasteless and dried out... definately not value for money.

It was busy upstairs, empty downstairs so we couldn't work out why the waiters were looking so miserable and stressed out as there was enough of them to serve. I'm all for a relaxed atmosphere but the staff looked really scruffy.

The ladies toilet - seat off the toilet and on the floor, floor littered with toilet roll and the hand dryer didn't work.

I am actually easy to please and we don't go in for posh restaurant experiences...all we ask for is staff who make you feel welcome and food worth the money you spend.

Very dissapointing and has put us of going to a PV again.

Having enjoyed the set lunch here some weeks back, I returned for dinner with a friend a few days ago. It was again excellent.

Went a la carte this time (the dinner set menu finishes at 7pm). The choice of dishes is wide and the quality of the food high for the reasonable prices charged. Despite being extremely busy, service was again friendly and responsive.

PV has got the formula right. There's nothing grand or pompous about it; the place simply serves good, reasonably priced food in a friendly fashion. Central London could do with more eateries like this.

I like it very much and will definitely be back, as well as recommending it to friends.

This place was just fantastic. We turned up with a hen party last night and we were one hour late due to limo mishaps. It was a busy Saturday night in Soho and not only did they keep the table but they did it with a smile! They didn't hurry us out and the service was perfect. The food was wonderful - big plates and very good value. Can't fault Pierre Victoire.

Six of us ate here on Saturday night, we were looking for somewhere to eat well in Soho that wouldn't break the bank. I remembered Pierre Victoire from my university days in the 90s when they were everywhere and did a particularly student-friendly set menu. I have to say the food on Saturday was every bit as good as I remembered it and I will definitely go again.

The men in our party had the steak frites and it looked very tempting. The ladies had the sea-bass which was beautifully prepared. I couldn't fault a thing. Good food, good wine, great ambience - a pianist turned up at about half way through the evening which really added to the fun of the place. it's definitely somewhere I would go again for great, reasonably-priced food in an informal setting. Make sure you book though - they were very busy. Also - I would probably insist on sitting upstairs, they have some tables in the basement but it's a bit gloomy down there by the toilets! I felt sorry for the people down there missing out on the fun from upstairs. But that's the only negative thing I would say. The service was top notch too. I think I may become a regular.
