What a fantastic meal and atmosphere!
The staff were so friendly and they really made you feel welcome.
The food was amazing! It was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I really cannot fault this restaurant. I will definately go again when next in London.

I was lucky enough to visit this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. We were celebrating a friends birthday. The menu was vast and food wonderful very reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity on offer.
Credit to the staff for their service on what was an incredibly busy night. Most of all
the atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates real food, real atmosphere and relaxing with friends.

We had the misfortune to visit this restaurant a few days ago and were seated very promptly albeit on the basement level adjacent to the toilets and a busy corridor with people pushing past against your chair. Once we had our starters, we were asked to move in order to accommodate another larger party. It was apparent they were packing people in like sardines. We were moved only to see another party of two take our table.... we were not happy.
Eventually after a 30 minute period our wine arrived with the main course, a glass with the starter would have been a better idea. There was a shortage of staff which means that there was little attention to each table. The food was cold and the service appaulling to say the least. Never to return we think.

I first went here as it was the only restaurant of 1000's rated 'high quality' + 'cheap value' in the TimeOut guide about 4 years ago!! I've been a regular ever since, and you can also book a private room for about 20+ people. Service is great, and food is too. I was suprised to hear its a chain, as its not very chain like - ie still has hand written menus. I've never had a bad experience, the portions are always big, the staff well-trained. Recommended, as the best of mid-range restaurants I know, to improve on this you'd face a big step-up in prices at other restaurants.

Searching for somewhere to have lunch yesterday, I stumbled across Pierre Victoire and was pleasantly surprised to see it still there. I had been years ago for a romantic dinner with my now husband, but thought that the chain had gone bust (since I think this is the only one left in London). My brother and I had a look at the menu and thought it looked good so decided to give it a go. I'm so glad we did. The food was excellent - I had falafels with hummus and aubergine and my brother had moules mariniere, then we both had the hungarian goulash as a main. The food was really tasty and homely. The portions were huge (i was so stuffed!) and the atmosphere was great - just like I remembered it. My brother had dessert which was also pretty tasty bt I could only manage a coffee. All that including bread, olives and two soft drinks came to less than £30. Bargain! Great selection on the menu also so i will definitely be going back.

FOOD
It's been some time since I went to this restaurant but some of the dishes remain memorable, in a positive way thankfully. My creamy prawn pancake starter was light and scrumptious and the duck main had that melt-in-the-mouth factor. Tender and moist, unlike some duck breast which if not cooked well can end up tasting dry and bland.
Dessrts were disappointing. Portions were small but the presentation was decent. The sticky toffee pudding was freshly microwaved and drowning in toffee-coloured custardy goo. I found the creme brulee not quite rich enough but perhaps I am too used to over-indulgence!
SERVICE
The restaurant was very busy so the staff were a bit rushed and flustered. Service was nonetheless decent and relatively quick.
ATMOSPHERE
I never realised Pierre Victoire was a chain. I love the gothic style writing on the shop facade and the interior is cosy and intimate. In the evening as the sun was setting, the loud conversation and live piano-playing really added to the pleasant dining experience.
VALUE
The lunch menu is good value for money but the choice is limited. Overall our dinner would have been good value for money, but for the disappointing desserts.

I regularly go to Pierre Victoire with my friends, on average twice a month, and am never disapointed either with the food or the service.
Of course, there are some times when I don't feel especially inspired by the choice offered to me, but I am sure that I can find there very good value for money, and original dishes that I would never know how to prepare in my own home !
Yesterday was no exception and after a tian of crayfish with marie rose sauce and avocado, I was more than happy to have it followed by curry albondigas and raita ! (very very good.. not too spicy and with the freshness of the raita to complement it... it was perfect). My friend had the crab cake as a starter, followed by chicken. I tried his dish and it was escellent (even if I preferred my albondigas !)
Fantastic meal ! especially for £8.90 (we were there before 19.00)
Highly recommended...
Look out in winter for any dish they offer that needs slow and long cooking time (any hotpot or goulash,,, they are usually fantastic !)

I was at Pierre Victoire on Thursday 24th May... We were celebrating my friends birthday so we were all in high spirits!!! The service was very good and the food was delicious. What really topped the night of for us was the excellent piano player (think his name was Dom)... He was very talented and played all the favourites. He took all requests and even if he did not know the song, if you hummed a few notes he would piece it together and play it beautifully. I especially liked his spin on James Blunt Your Beautiful aka Your Pitiful!!!
Thank you Dom and the rest of the staff for a fabulous night out x

I love this place ! My daughter and I stumbled across it on Boxing Day 2004 and what a find ! I had Beetroot soup which was gorgeous, then RibEye steak which melted in the mouth, followed by creme brulee yum !
The set lunch menu is really good value and quite inventive.
The staff are really hard working and polite usually, but on one occasion we went for a late lunch and the manager was not there and our waitress was really quite rude,my partner fancied "sausage and mash"he asked what kind of sausages they were and she told us she did not know,so we asked her to go and find out !
He then had to ask 3 times for mustard ,then gave up!
She never got a tip!

You couldn't get a better 2 course lunch anywhere else in London for £6.90. The staff make dining here enjoyable and relaxed yet efficient. The menu changes every week and they often come up with fantastic dishes. I had great seabass the other day and even wild mushrooms.
