Having enjoyed the set lunch here some weeks back, I returned for dinner with a friend a few days ago. It was again excellent.

Went a la carte this time (the dinner set menu finishes at 7pm). The choice of dishes is wide and the quality of the food high for the reasonable prices charged. Despite being extremely busy, service was again friendly and responsive.

PV has got the formula right. There's nothing grand or pompous about it; the place simply serves good, reasonably priced food in a friendly fashion. Central London could do with more eateries like this.

I like it very much and will definitely be back, as well as recommending it to friends.

This place was just fantastic. We turned up with a hen party last night and we were one hour late due to limo mishaps. It was a busy Saturday night in Soho and not only did they keep the table but they did it with a smile! They didn't hurry us out and the service was perfect. The food was wonderful - big plates and very good value. Can't fault Pierre Victoire.

Six of us ate here on Saturday night, we were looking for somewhere to eat well in Soho that wouldn't break the bank. I remembered Pierre Victoire from my university days in the 90s when they were everywhere and did a particularly student-friendly set menu. I have to say the food on Saturday was every bit as good as I remembered it and I will definitely go again.

The men in our party had the steak frites and it looked very tempting. The ladies had the sea-bass which was beautifully prepared. I couldn't fault a thing. Good food, good wine, great ambience - a pianist turned up at about half way through the evening which really added to the fun of the place. it's definitely somewhere I would go again for great, reasonably-priced food in an informal setting. Make sure you book though - they were very busy. Also - I would probably insist on sitting upstairs, they have some tables in the basement but it's a bit gloomy down there by the toilets! I felt sorry for the people down there missing out on the fun from upstairs. But that's the only negative thing I would say. The service was top notch too. I think I may become a regular.

Grabbed lunch here the other day, selecting from the 7.95 set menu. A great choice of dishes was offered and a reasonable selection of well-priced wines.

For the price, everything was very good indeed. My main course in particular was delicious and service was friendly and fine. I definitely intend to eat here again.

In these more frugal times the lunch menu offers excellent value for money.

Highly recommended.

Beware - we were booked in to eat at this restaurant and then they were "unexpectedly" fully-booked and would we mind eating down the road at their new restaurant. Now, call me cynical, but what better way of building up custom at you new restaurant than over-booking your existing place and dumping the customers on the new place in the full knowledge they won't get sat down somewhere else on a Saturday evening without a booking. I object to being messed about like this and consequently give this place a bad rating. I would not, however, have objected to having been told at the time of booking that a new very similar restaurant had opened and then had the opportunity to decide in advance if I wanted to go to the new place. I give it average ratings because the whole evening was tainted by this.

Went to this place last thur with my friend Kieran and the food. atmosphere, and the staff were first class. However I 'm glad the table was already booked as the place was full at 8 when we arrived. Can't wait until next time in London, when I will definately visit

Have visited Pierre Victoire on several occasions and we are planning on returning this weekend, the ambience of the place is great, food reasonably priced for good quality food (particularly the set-menu in the late afternoon/early evening) and have we often ended up having items from the set-menu rather than the main menu just because they sound more appealing and not down to price! The staff have always been attentive without being intrusive. Cannot comment on the pianist, as commented on by previous reviewers, as I have never been there when there has been live music. As commented on by another reviewer it is v.noisy at times, but this down to it's popularity and is well-worth putting up with.

Generally, for Central London I would say this is a great place to eat.

Have eaten here regularly during the last year. It's always busy. Food generally good - the bouillabaise especially so - and the steak frites is pretty reliable. Service friendly and unrushed. Good value for money. However it is often very noisy (especially in the downstairs room) and personally I could do without the pianist who is there some nights.

I have such a relaxing time each on every visit to the restaurant. Laid back gorgeous place where the cuisine is absolutely fantastic.

Eating authentic french cuisine and listening to the pianist....absolute heaven.

Thanks for the pleasant atmosphere.

I have dined at this place with my lover on our lunch breaks from our tiresome work approximately 10 times. The 2 courses for £7.95 is a fantastic deal - and as the menu changes so regularly their are often great suprises - like the Lamb spring rolls. The atmosphere is rather chilled and food is tasty. Service occasionally slightly slow but overall a great treat!
