Nice lovely place, never lets you down. Perfect food, generous portions, prompt service. Good value for money. Only you have to be very attentive and that's why. We dropped by as a party of 5. Speaking foreign language although all of us live in England/Canada/US and have no difficulty whatsoever. The waitress performed the following thing on us. She asked if we wanted to "try their new wine". We were talking to each other and nodded to her. One of us tried the wine which was fine. The waitress without further asking emptied a bottle in our glasses before we had a chance to stop her.
Then, when taking our order, we specified what our main courses will be accompanied with. I.e. seabass with new potatoes. Than she asked again what did we like on the side, and we repeated "with new potatoes". Subsequently, when she brought the order, everybody got their main with potatoes on the side and, in addition, another plate with potatoes. All that brought the price to about 150 pounds for 5 people. Kind of a trick, eh?

We had a late lunch here on Sunday afternoon, having read the favourable reviews, and we were not disappointed, it's absolutely perfect, great food, good service, pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere - great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, and very good value on the set 2 course menu at £8.50, alternatively you could choose from the a la carte, there are also very reasonably priced wines. Well worth a visit!

Amazing value for money, well at least the pre theatre offers were.I had fried Whitebait and Confit of Duck with Jersey Royals (tasted more like the generic new potatoes) and my daughter had the Crayfish salad and Salmon Fishcake. Everything tasted fresh and authentic but let down by the Rocket leaf salad/garnish that was drowned in horrible Thai sweet chili sauce (this overated sickly sweet thing shouldn't appear in a French joint, what's wrong with good old vinaigrette?) accompanying three of the four dishes. Anyway two courses for £8.90 is an absolute no brainer and beggars can't be choosers. Service is brill and ambience is great. Well done PV.

My birthday was made extra special by outstanding staff who made us all feel very welcome with excellent service always with a beaming smile.
Pierre Victoire has a lively buzzy atmosphere with a vast menu to suit all tastes at very reasonable prices.
We were surprised with Champagne when we arrived and then after our meal a PV favourite of mine, Bonofee Pie complete with birthday candles.
At the end of the evening the owner gave us umbrellas to share as it was pouring down. ( I will return these soon!). Fantastic customer care and we will definately be back! Thank you all for a memorable evening.

We happened upon this place last night - what luck! This restaurant offers a wide variety of meals including a large vegetarian choice (which me and my vego friends were much appreciative for). Meal portions were perfect, I shared a dish with my friend and we were all beyond full by the end having finished every morsel on our plates and still managed to eye off the dessert menu which, unfortunately for us, was delicious! Staff were very attentive and friendly, I will definitely be heading back again soon. Oh, prices were also very, very agreeable.

I was lucky enough to visit this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. We were celebrating a friends birthday. The menu was vast and food wonderful very reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity on offer.
Credit to the staff for their service on what was an incredibly busy night. Most of all
the atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates real food, real atmosphere and relaxing with friends.

We had the misfortune to visit this restaurant a few days ago and were seated very promptly albeit on the basement level adjacent to the toilets and a busy corridor with people pushing past against your chair. Once we had our starters, we were asked to move in order to accommodate another larger party. It was apparent they were packing people in like sardines. We were moved only to see another party of two take our table.... we were not happy.
Eventually after a 30 minute period our wine arrived with the main course, a glass with the starter would have been a better idea. There was a shortage of staff which means that there was little attention to each table. The food was cold and the service appaulling to say the least. Never to return we think.

I first went here as it was the only restaurant of 1000's rated 'high quality' + 'cheap value' in the TimeOut guide about 4 years ago!! I've been a regular ever since, and you can also book a private room for about 20+ people. Service is great, and food is too. I was suprised to hear its a chain, as its not very chain like - ie still has hand written menus. I've never had a bad experience, the portions are always big, the staff well-trained. Recommended, as the best of mid-range restaurants I know, to improve on this you'd face a big step-up in prices at other restaurants.
