Kaya House

Even with the water mains dug up right outside Kaya House, nothing will stop me going here...best place in all of greenwich, lewisham & blackheath. not fancy but certainly fantastic.

Absolutely fab! I am from Malaysia so I should know. The sambal dishes are excellent and don't forget those soft shell crabs. Divine.

Once a month my best friend and I make a pilgrimage to Kaya, it has been the same for the last 5 or 6 years! Being half Malaysian, my expectations are high, but Kaya never disappoints. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly (remember that it is very small and you will be sitting close to everyone)Ambrose and Linda are friendly, helpful and always remember our names. I love that they always ask about the family, and remember everything you tell them-including your favourite dish. I almost don't want to review Kaya as keeping it our secret is more fun, but for those of you in the area, it's a must.

This is a friendly local place, and the food is OK, but for proper Malaysian cooking you'll have to go elsewhere. The sambal dishes are pretty good, but everything else lacked the rich spiciness of the real thing.

The restaurant is small and cosy. The hospitality is fabulous and the food is good. The claypot towfoo is to die for. Even the chilli oil is home made.Felt like eating back home in Malaysia. Hats off to Ambrose & Linda. Keep up the good work, recommended to all Malaysians.

It is no co-incidence that this small, friendly restaurant is often booked up. A small jewel on Deptford Broadway offering a good choice for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Staff are warm, and helpful and happy to make recommendations. As a customer you always feel welcomed, and leave satisfied.

We have been going to Kaya for at least 6 years now and never get bored with it. The food is second to none and atmosphere is always friendly - Ambrose and the team make everyone feel like they are their best customers.

It is probably not a good idea for us locals to review this restaurant, as it is one of our local gems. The tiny restaurant is always packed, and needs at least 3 days advance booking to get a seat. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food sublime and the host very friendly. A visit to Kaya House is always a pleasure - I cannot recommend it highly enough.
