Went with a group of friends on Friday evening as a Kaya House virgin, and came out thoroughly impressed. Ambrose and Linda are lovely, the food was excellent and the price very reasonable!
Will definitely be going back soon!

I was introduced to this little gem by my sister in law who lived nearby at the time.
As a vegetarian I often struggle to get a good meal when eating out and often compromise. The food at Kaya House is delightful, the finest vegetarian food I have ever tasted, not that it's all vegetarian you understand.
Ambrose is the perfect host, very friendly and attentive, when I explained that I was a vegetarian he asked about my preferences and produced an astonishing variety of varied vegetatiaan dishes. The deep fried aubergene with chilli is gorgeous whilst the asparagas sambal is perfection.
The restaurant is small and intimate, the set menus are great value and 4 of us ate and drank our fill for less than £25 a head, this included beers & wine. I've since been back every time we visit family in London, I wish we had something as good near home.
This is the best restaurant I've ever eaten in, the combination of outstanding food, great friendly family service and value for money puts Kaya at the top of my list.

Hmmmm should have read this review before going to Kaya House. I ordered chicken rendang and it turned out to be really bad. no resemblance at all to the rendang that it was supposed to look and taste like. I may try the sambal dish one day if i ever go there again.
The starter of satay chicken was really good. a big portion and a decent peanut sauce to go with it. the egg fried rice was also good.
nice place, not rushed and also a nice ambience.

Being new the area we asked locals about the best place to eat and they recommended Kaya.
We were not disappointed and have been back three times now. Ambrose and Linda are very friendly and welcoming and the food is great, only problem is getting in now as it is so popular.

Unfortunately I left London a year ago to move to Japan, if you asked me for one restaurant I would goto on a visit it would be Kaya House. I'm totally sure Ambrose and Linda would remember me and tell me what I did and didn't like, (oh and there was nothing we didn't like) what I'd had before, and then recommend something new. I used to frequent Kaya House for the 4 years I lived in Charlton and took many friends there. Its very small and looks a little 'shabby' but I say that in the most nicest way. Walk in the door and you are in for a taste bud delight and the most stunning hospitality ever.
I still to this day dream of the salt and pepper chilli squid and prawns, and oh all the other wonderful food. As others have said, you don't really want to tell people about this place as it gets to crowded. But do go, you will never regret it.

Just visited this local restaurant for the first time - a cosy little place with very friendly staff and lovely food - an oasis in Deptford. Filled with happy customers, many of them clearly regulars as we will be now.

Even with the water mains dug up right outside Kaya House, nothing will stop me going here...best place in all of greenwich, lewisham & blackheath. not fancy but certainly fantastic.
