We've visited this place many times over the years but today's experience confirms that Fat Boys has really gone downhill. The place was busy and it was evident neither the (incredibly surly) staff nor the manager could cope. After sitting unattended for 20 minutes we had to go up and request menus, then for someone to take our order, then for our drinks to be brought and when the food finally came it was underwhelming to say the least. Greasy plates slammed down, no napkins, no charm whatsoever. When I complained to the oleagenous manager (having requested three times to speak to him) he kept patting me on the arm and telling me there was nothing he could do - that if he shouted at his staff they would only get worse. As these same staff had sunk so low as to be vile to my shy 9 year old daughter who had the temerity to ask politely for a fork I shudder to think how much worse they can get. I agree with another reviewer who said this place is trading on past glories. It is. Do yourself a favour and give it a wide berth.

I love Fat Boys I used to live nearby. The Thai experience can be had at so many places now that it is good to return to an old stomping ground. The place has been spruced up and the staff are still friendly. We went with some friends and had a fab meal. Green curry and Pad thai very good. Also good for a traditional english breakfast in the morning. Sure you can compare it to others but this is a survivor. 8 years in Chiswick and now there are Fat Boys in Richmond, Ealing, Brentford and now Upper Richmond Road, East Sheen. This latest one is very good.
