The Feng Shang was a wonderful experience.

The staff were so friendly helping us to us our chopsticks and being attentive.

The food...well the food was incredible. Nothing like your local chinese takeaway. We went for set menu option A and left with the fullest bellies ever. Although a little pricey for us we decided to splash out and was totally worth it.

With a bottle of wine for 2 of us it came to about £100.

When I have saved up my pennies im going again!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in London. My wife is Chinese, so we are very picky about Chinese food but we would rate this in the top three or four Chinese restaurants in London. We keep coming back and over the 5 years we have been coming here, sometimes to celebrate special occasions and other times just to have a quiet meal a deux, we have always enjoyed our meal. Go for the black cod (a la Nobu but less than half the price), duck and mango, mongolian venison, beef with black pepper sauce, chilli prawns and scallops. You will not be disappointed. This is just a great place to enjoy fantastic Chinese food in a relaxed atmosphere without paying Hakkasan prices. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Had dinner with my husband at feng shang tonight. Attentive, friendly staff, prompt service. The exterior was a bit run down and the interior decor outdated. Ordered ostrich fillets in Japanese yakinizu sauce and claypot chicken with rice. Food was very tasty but shame about the portion sizes. They were MINISCULE! £17.50 for the ostrich dish and the whole content of the plate could fit in the palm of my hand (and I have pretty small hands!). It was delicious but we did not feel satisfied after and had to go elsewhere for dinner round 2. We did enjoy the food but would probably not return due to the small portions of rather pricey food.

We've been here twice for lunch, and have enjoyed it each time.

The food is very nicely prepared and presented; the staff friendly and helpful. Even the background music is pleasant and non-intrusive.

But the star has to be the building itself. It's well worth arriving by walking along the towpath so that you get to see the restaurant before your meal. If coming from the Camden Lock direction, walk past the restaurant for 100 yards or so, then turn around and walk back.

A really enjoyable "total experience", and highly recommended.

Wow, I was taken as a surprise birthday dinner, and the first thing that is striking is the stunning setting, after just strolling along the canal footpath this wonderful looking floating building came into view.

Decor, cleanliness, atmosphere, ambiance, and unbelievable tasting food, I cannot recommend this enough.

The only thing that took me aback was why there was not more people enjoying what I would call a fantastic oasis of culinary authentic food and friendly efficient service.

Usually I am a very hard person to please, but sometimes (just sometimes) there is a place that changes my opinion, and this is one of them. I have just had to put digits to key board and give credit where credit is due.

And last but not least, what everyone wants to know, the price, but I can tell you this when your left with such scrumptious taste in your mouth, warm feeling in your heart and a contented stomach you can not put a price on it, I could not have ask for a better birthday dinner experience.

Thank you Feng Shang

Amazing experience!

I was brought there by a friend and was not expecting such a treat.

To start off, the unique setting of the restaurant on water has already created an atmosphere of serenity allowing the dedicated attention to food and company alike.

Food came in good time and was presented in an appealing manner of colour and smells. We had the soup first to whet our appetite and we ordered some venison and beef, not forgetting the wasabi prawns, some tofu, and a dish of black cod fish. What can I say. The meat was tender and combined with the sauce that was just right in intensity. The seafood was very fresh and of good portion. To me, tofu will always be tofu, but the sauce made it worth the while.

Combined with the nice house pour, there it was.

A perfect dining experience.

My boyfriend and I went here a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is - Amazing food! I will no longer be ordering Chinese take-away if this is what real Chinese food tastes like! We ordered a mixed platter, soft shell crab, scallops, venison, seafood pot amongst others and it was all beautifully presented and tasted delicious.

The service was excellent as well. I must have asked 100 questions about their food and they couldn't have been more helpful.

It's not cheap at all. We spent over £100 including a tip and you can easily spend more if you order the lobster and expensive wine but it was worth every penny and I cannot wait for my next meal there!

My wife and I have eaten here about once a month for the last four years and we have never had a bad meal. Just a fantastic restaurant. Great atmosphere and good service. Contrary to the previous reviewer we can recommend this place without any reservations whatsoever. Very superior Chinese food and therefore a bit more expensive than your usual Chinese. If you are stuck as to what to eat just let Karen (the owner) guide you through. To drink, try the pink Prosecco.

The worst service I've ever experienced. Arrived at the restaurant at lunchtime to find it closed. There was a Chinese man mowing the grass and he asked us if we had booked. Yes, we had. He said that there was a mix up with the booking and that we were put down for Saturday. We showed him the confirmation slip, and then he said that the kitchen was closed due to a fire. A load of rubbish - they were obviously very underbooked and decided it wasn't worth opening - and they had tried ringing my mobile about 3 hours earlier, but unfortunately I was on the underground at the time and didn't get the call. Miraculously the kitchen was open again in the evening. I recommend that nobody ever goes there again, or you will just be rewarding appalling service and total disregard for the customer.
