I went here for my birthday last Friday. It was a superb evening. Beautiful food, attentive waiters and reasonably priced. The staff were helpful when I asked questions. I had the malaysian style curry and it was top class. I have recommended this restaurant to friends and family. I definitely will be coming here again.

I booked the Feng Shang Princess Restaurant for my dad 70th birthday party 2 week ago. Everyone was so exited as we book the whole restaurant to party all night long. My dad think that the place was too small to accommodate 100 guest but it turn out to be so cosy for everyone that attended the party.
They provided some set menu but we choose our own dished which is all recommened by the chef. We neverever thought that for such a big group the food presentation still look so amazing. It is a complement for the chef and never forget the food was great. All the guest really enjoyed it.
After the dinner the lower deck was so fast transformed to a dance floor, it is so quick done by the staff. We really have a great night. My dad said he feel like 20 years younger. We will sure to go back to this restaurant for other occasion to come. Highly recommened for family reunion as it got a very cosy atmosphere.

Went on saturday night & have to say that the experience was very positive. After reading some reviews that the service was rushed we were surprised at how relaxed it actually was. The starters were excellent, the hot & sour soup was just the right side of spicy, the spring rolls very tasty & the squid well seasoned.
The mains didnt let us down either. The beef was perfectly tender, black cod flaky & succulent & the shredded beef was perfectly fine & actually the vegetable selection was very tasty. However the highlight was the lamb chops. Grilled to perfection we argued over who would get the last one. The portions are good. Even with my friends gargantuan appetite we managed to come out well satisfied.
Yes if you can, then ask for a table overlooking the canal & maybe the decor isnt quite up there with some other restaurants but these are only minor points.
Pricing is fair. Not the cheapest around but you pay for what you get. I'm looking forward to going back already.

Being an avid appreciator of Chinese food I couldn't help but check out the floating [well, just, it's pretty much cemented to the bank] Feng Shang Princess. I remember going to floating restaurant in Docklands a few years ago called Lotus, and it was going to be interesting to see how the two compared.
The first thing I noticed about Feng Shang is that it was much smaller than Lotus and more intimate. It didn't look like it catered for huge parties of people wanting to get drunk, but more for couples and tables of four. The decor inside is an unusual mixture of red lanterns, decorative gold drapes, plaques and vases while the music piped over the speakers was the unusual choice of quiet instrumental jazz. The restaurant has two levels, and we were informed that over the next few months the downstairs would become the main restaurant and the upstairs would become a bar.
The food itself was above average for a Chinese restaurant. The wasabi prawns were spicy and fresh, and the crispy duck rolls full of flavour. The servings were generous - probably just a little too much in fact - while the main course of shredded beef and black bean sauce was truly excellent and one of the best variations I've had. The accompaniment of asparagus, lotus shoots and water chestnuts was also very good, and far from plain, which a lot of Chinese vegetable dishes seem to be.
The service was very swift indeed - those complaining about it must have had an off night. One of the girls got our order wrong a couple of times but it was replaced within the same minute, leading me to think that she was new and just got things mixed up. The rest of the waiters were very attentive, friendly and helpful.
All in all it was a good meal with a wonderful setting and views of the canal, made particularly attractive as the night wore on. The prices were very reasonable indeed, many dishes placed firmly within the £5-£15 bracket though there were more expensive ones. My only complaint would be that the decor could have been slightly more classy and oriental themed, though I imagine this will improve over the next few months with the downstairs restaurant coming to life and the upstairs refurb. A good evening and I would certainly go again to sample the rest of their menu which apparently changes regularly. Recommended.

Don't know about the usual meal besides Valentine's Day. But my date and I was very excited about the whole thing of eating in a chinese vessel in primrose hill. Although price was at 45 pounds per person, but it was well justified for that. Food was excellant, especially the second course Seafood !! Seafood !!! done in a way with the impression of melting my sweetheart. (she was impressed with the whole presentation of the dishes and the taste was simply heavenly!!!)
Although, it was so packed with couples, service was first class!! as compare to claridges and The Dorchester.
My review here might seems a little favourable to Feng Shang but they deserve every bit of it becuase I have successfully propose to my gal and she has accepted it. So I have decided to place this beautiful chinese vessel in regent's canal as my annivesary for years to come by.
Secondly, what I was so impressed about was even at such a busy night which guarantee sales, feng shang actually arrange an live entertainment with Elvis accompanying thru the night with his lovely voice. That's really spiced things up, his lovely songs have make the night seems forever filled with love in the air.
Thank you guys and especially to Roy his service was spectacular!!!

This restaurant is really not worth the mission. It's cuisine is the nadir of Anglo-Cantonese deep fried gloop in MSG. Yes, the service is attentive, but you go to a restaurant to eat. It is not cheap £80 for two - sans grog! More disappointingly despite the interesting looking exterior - a concrete "boat" - inside is dark and pokey. To sum up - don't do it!

Have to return here since my girlfriend's parent went back to Japan. This time I am back for my lamp chop, and it's tasty as ever. Their menu looks different. There is a dedicated Japanese section !! the waiter recommended me a japanese Black Coe, it's like marmite fish! and I love it!! It seems like the menu is alive, they add or remove items every fortnightly! On yes,,,errr. my girlfriend had a very tender beef in yakinuku sauce. and guess what?!? She didn't even chew much on it and it was that tender and juicy.Their was pear juice mrinated on it. Well, have to agree it was a bit slow, but the restaurant was fully pack, I was lucky to be onboard, people were still queuing when we left !!
Planning to go again next week ! Hope this help....

We celebrated our daughter's 30th birthday at Feng Shang on Saturday. There were 13 of us and the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We also received considerable help before hand in selecting menus, etc. A great time was had by all. To be recommended.

My boyfriend took me to Feng Shang for my birthday dinner, and it was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Though the food that we did receive was of great quality, it was overpriced, and the service was extremely slow- with no appologies from the waiters. It was so slow, in fact, that we never received our main courses though we had been seated for a full hour and 45 minutes. I never walk out of restaurants, but in this case, we chose our check over continuing to wait for a meal that they had not even begun to cook.
