I went to this restaurant on the back of an invitation to a friends birthday and as soon as we step in, I understood why she made the choice. The atmosphere was electric and the place was buzzing. We sat on a long table with perfect space not cramped or too far apart to have to shout and scream at each, which was ideal as it was a large party and I did'nt know half of them. I enjoyed the best steak I've had in a long time and I've been to quite a few grill restaurants. The staff were a lot of fun and helpful with the wine and cocktail lists. I will be sure to make a return visit very soon. A must go.

My second experience of Exmouth Market dining after Medcalf, and I won't be strolling back that way in the near future.
It is one of those resturants where hype and image have taken over from quality. The staff mince around believing they are running a chic, high-roller Las Vegas resturant when in fact the cocktails never arrived, the "Dollar Burger" was more of a dime burger swimming in grease and the toilet hadn't been repaired/cleaned in months. But as the staff never came to our table, they were blissfully unaware, lost in a pretentious little world.
If you have to go somewhere in Exmouth Market, go to the Wilmington Arms across the street. An all round good night of food, drink, and music.

Dollar Grills & Martinis is an atmospheric restaurant on two levels with a downstairs bar area that makes delicious cocktails and decent food. Unfortunately it is let down by its poor service.
Our 9:30pm table booking was 15 minutes' late, which would not have been a problem if the downstairs area wasn't overflowing with a drunken hens' night party. We were forced to stand by the entrance while stressed staff barged past us trying to set the 2nd sitting.
Our order was messed up and when we queried it with the waiter we were aggressively told we had made a mistake. They then forgot our friend's dessert and spilt a drink in our other friend's lap. As a result, some people in our party (jusftifiably) weren't keen on the 13.5 percent "optional" service charge. We left a reasonable tip (£6 short on a £250 bill). As we were leaving, a waitress chased after us to ask why it wasn't the full "optional" amount. Not cool.
Overall the food was quite good but, given the poor service, it didn't seem worth the hassle.

Great place, went with a large party and the set menu we were offered had a great range and kept everyone happy. The restaurant has a really cool vibe, buzzy and lively, with a young professional crowd. After the meal we went to the downstairs martini lounge, where we had a large private alcove for the night, the dj kept us entertained for the night and the cocktails were AMAZING my suggestion for the last reviewer, why choose a pina colada, when you could have had the delicious pornstar martini or the melted swiss white choc one is extra special ( and had no ice). Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening with my boyfriend; it was not very busy and the staff were very friendly and approachable throughout the night, however I was hugely disappointed with the food. My boyfriend ordered the king prawns which he did like but thought it would have been better if he had been informed that it was a cold starter. My starter of goats cheese salad was perfectly fine: nothing special.
Then came the burgers. They looked absolutely delicious but my burger was slightly burnt and so that was all I could taste; I couldn't taste the cheese or the salsa. My boyfriend's burger was fine but he did not think there was anything particularly special about it. The fries were good. Another complaint was with regards to the cocktails. I had a pina colada which on arrival I thought was the biggest cocktail I had even seen however 80% of the glass was filled with ice and my drink was soon finished. i would not have been such a problem if the cocktails were not so expensive but I definitely expect more drink for that kind of money.
This restaurant looks and at first glance seems impressive but there are certain things they need to work on such as consistency. Overall I thought Dollar Grills was massively overpriced (£76 for 3 courses), particularly for a burger place that for me and my boyfriend in no way lives up to the previous comments.
