Not good for veggies - unless you like half-raw cauliflower in thin powdery white sauce topped by pastry! My meat-eating friends liked the food, though. We all agreed it won the award for the most attempts to sell us items we'd already said we didn't want -starters, side orders, fizzy and still water, bread, olives, more drinks, coffees. Staff were quite relaxed and pleasant about being told we didn't want any more, but just kept on trying. Seemed expensive for what it was - £25 for said cailflower, small glass of wine and a vile coffee. Quite liked the surroundings, though.

I love this place. We frequently go here at the weekend, as we know that we'll always get a good quality steak cooked to my liking and fab chips. The staff are always reallly attentive and the cocktails fab. Suprised to see some iffy reviews, but then we always go at their quieter times.

Food wasnt bad. I am a steak snob and mine was a bit overcooked and agree about the comment on the chips! One thing - do not have the "cheese" platter as it is somewhat devoid of cheese and tasteless. Both the brie and cheddar were like some cheap rubbish from your local convenience store! And never had a Brie cut in half before so you only got the top half! Other than thats its an OK place.

We took clients out for drinks in this place last night and had a cracking time. We had an area cordoned off and plenty of room to move about in it. Cocktails were very well made and very tasty. Bar snacks a plenty all went down very well and the chips have left a lasting impression with more than one person. We'll certainly go back !

I defy anyone who doesn't enjoy the Bar and Grill. The cocktails are special (especailly at 2 for 1!), and the fact the staff don't try to put my drink into orbit before they pour it into the glass pleases me. Instead the effort goes into making it well. The food is great, and the staff friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is chilled and relaxing; the perfect retreat after a hard day at the office.A patron for life here.

Well worth a visit on a 2 for 1 but perhaps a little pricey otherwise.

Excellent food............attentive service............not overly impressed with the " real chips" which were rather soggy and unappetising but the quality of the meat ( I had the Kobe steak ) more than compensated.

What a total let down! I was taken there by my boyfriend on Saturday 27th January – we arrived at 9pm to a basically deserted restaurant, but there was no one there to great us, so we had to wander aimlessly through the empty bar area until we managed to find a waitress. We were then shown to our booth which was lovely – and then we waited… and waited… we were given menus but then it took over 25 minutes to even be asked if we wanted a drink, it was only after repeatedly trying to get the waitresses attention someone finally came over. A bad start.

We ordered our starters and our mains, wine and champagne, and then waited…

The champagne and wine came together and then the starters turned up – a few measly prawns in a very tacky looking dish and a ‘slice’ of baked camembert with 3 slices of the hardest, stalest toast and limp celery – what a treat.

We left shortly after, the manager did not even question our reasons for leaving, she new it was shoddy service and mediocre food. Luckily we got in to Smiths of Smithfields on the other side of the market – which was a usual, terrific!

I went to the Bar & Grill on 7th April, and given that I have just started working in London, and am not that clued up regarding prices etc, I was really surprised with the good prices, good food and GREAT cocktails. 6 of us had a meal, complete with around 10 bottles of wine and the bill came to around £30 a head, which I thought was great value. The service was great too, and the pre-food cocktails delicious, though I don't remember the names, but there was a strawberry one, with lots of vodka, which was heaven. I would gladly go again, and plan to in the near future!

Bar and Grill WAS my favourite restaurant..not just for its friendly staff, its fantastic atmosphere, its great decor... but more importanrtly for its unusual, creative menu and of course the tastes that come with it. I go often enough that i even have a 20 percent-off loyalty card. So, why on earth would they change the menu to make it just like any other restaurant in London. I could have gone round the corner to my local brasserie rather than travelling across London. What made Bar and Grill stand out from the crowd was it's rubs, sauces, marinades. You chose your meat, from steak to ostrich and then you chose your rub or sauce. The menu has become dull and mundane. The food was fine. The service was great and the atmosphere still fantastic. BUT, please -- go back to the old menu... or they can have my 20-percent-off card back!
