your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

From the reviews below, it is clear to any reader that one is either going to love the service at Ffionas or hate it. I loved it. Ffiona was bold and charming, definitely not a shrinking voilet. I thought that she was great fun but can see that she might rub other people up the wrong way. She enthused about the food and I think carves an undeniable reputation for herself.

I thought the food, albeit it not cheap by any means, was very good and the atmosphere was very cosy (but a bit cramped).

I arrived late on a Sunday night, was rather the worse for wear, ordered some excellent pate, great lamb and a half bottle of wine, talked with other customers and the lady herself, enjoyed myself enormously and took myself home.

Days later I realised I had left my sunglasses. I popped in early one evening, was recognised by Ffiona as soon as I walked through the door, pointed to the place where my sunglasses were kept and asked to come again.

If some people confuse anything other than obsequious deference with rudeness then let them eat at the more bland establishments. This is a small place with a big personality.

Too few left.

Ffiona's rudeness can take your breath away. Sadly, her food cannot. It is good, but nothing spectacular. Distinctly average, I am afraid.

I assume she sees her manner as a selling point, by way of a talking point. Lord only knows why, her rudeness is truly insufferable.

If her food matched her rudeness, then the experience would be wonderful.

Sadly it is not. Average food, served in cramped surroundings.

Never will I go to this restaurant again.

The welcome was none existent, the owner - is one of the rudest people I have ever met. The group I was with were criticised for having the door open whilst we were entering the restaurant.

My friend ordered Sausage and Mash and actually got Sausages with bubble and squeak despite the fact that others at our table were served with mashed potatoes as per their orders.

We were told to SHUT UP so that we could be told what desserts were available and we would then have 20 minutes to eat them - this was early evening not late at night.

Rudeness is not a charm - it is a total lack of it. I will never consider going their again and will ensure that I spread the word what a rude, unwelcoming, overpriced establishment this is.

A great restaurant with zero attitude. Honest food great atmosphere and a menu that you have to return for. You are treated as a guest to her restaurant/home, so be polite, and freindly to fiona and you'll be rewarded ten fold. She'll wave to you if she see's you walking past and on a good day give you a kiss and a bottle of wine!

If you want a formal meal go else where.....if you want to feel like you've been invited to someones home in the country, with great food and endless bottles of good wine and embracing atmosphere go to Fiona's!

Fabulous Ffiona's!! Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous atmosphere and fabulous host! Ffiona's is a great location for a relaxed, candlelit evening, adding a rustic feel to good, English cooking. Great food served in a welcoming atmosphere, it feels more like eating at a friends home, than in a restaurant. The watermelon, fig and feta cheese salad was a tasty and refreshing starter, followed by the roast pork, so succulent and tender - cooked to perfection. Finished off with the best bread and butter pudding in the world - not to be missed!!

.We love Ffiona and Ffiona's. She remembers us by vioce on the phone after a year away. The food is always fresh and well prepaired. She makes us feel that we have a friend in London even though we only go there once a year..It is specially nice to go when the weather is cold and rainy, when she watches out the window for a cab.for us at the end of a pleasant evening. We will certainly return.

We have been going to Ffion'as restaurant for about 12 years. Not once have we been disappointed. Ffiona is the heart and soul of her restaurant which is small, cosy, intimate, friendly, and serves excellent home made food at brilliant prices. Ffiona's is a place where you can go and relax, have fun and eat home cooking from an impressive array that changes daily. We have top favourites - Howard likes the chicken and leek pie (with saute not mash), and I am a sucker for the aubergine pate starter, and then it's usually the hhigh quality sausage and mash, or the roast pork with all the trimmings including really crispy crackling. You never leave Ffiona's hungry or anything other than totally happy with life. We would recommend this restaurant as a real find, something totally different from some pretentious and starchy London haunts. You're a star, Ffiona!

Decor is quaint, homely and welcoming. Food is quite tasty but overpriced and very basic. The owner who, judging by some other reviewers, is considered to be a bit of a draw was unbelievably rude.
