Hmm, something's changed. Went here on Sunday and its just a pub. Service is pub standard, but food was poor - it isnt hard to cook a steak, but they failed to get it right.

Ok these guys have got it all. Great food and karaoke. No, don't gag. I work down the road and the karaoke on Friday nights there is kool - not naff. Any way, whatever, check it out...and the burger is the best south of the river. Check that out too.

It's so rare to find a place in London with excellent food, a good buzz, a smattering of celebrities AND CHEAP PRICES. Keep it up guys, you are the best.

I also went to a 30th birthday party there and the private rooms are AMAZING and the food and service was spot on.

Was in for lunch yesterday and had the Linguine with Crayfish - totally delicious. Not expensive either.

Popped in on Saturday lunchtime and was most impressed! The homemade breads and tuna with Meditereanan vedgetables tasted excellent. What really stuck in my mind however was the pudding - you must try the chocolate foundant with hazelnut ice-cream. So good!

It looks like the "MATILDA"(an Italian lady chef who started this restaurant) is no longer here. The menu is no longer interesting Italian food, but very basic "pub-grub".Be warned!

Matilda is a fantastically cosy, busy local for me. The food is delicious and original. I had my 30th birthday in the party room and it was awesome. It's great getting restaurant / club service and decor at pub prices. Keep it up guys!

Having been here a couple of times, I'm quite surprised by a few of the reviews. This is a charming, laid-back and very well run place. Food has always been excellent, and the wine is great. The staff are exteremly friendly and attentive, but definitely not in your face. Matilda is perfect for an easygoing Sunday lunch, or relaxed evening meal - and I would happily go back.

Great disappointment. I went to Matilda's for a company christmas do last week and am only glad that it was free!

Starter: the matilda board was advertised as served on a wooden board with meats, cheeses and a variety of fresh bread...we got a plate with 3 slices of salami (dry), 3 slices of parma ham (dryer) and 3 slices of god knows what..in the middle of the plate some cheap tasting vegetables. 20 minutes after being served this plate I had to ask for the bread, when it came I wished I hadn't bothered, it was dry and old..nearly choked!!! Still wondering whatever happened to the cheese...

Main course: I opted for the Pappardelle Cinghiale. Although a great improvement from the Matilda Board the portion was very small, there was too little sauce making it overall too dried out, the wild boar meat chunks were dry and soft obviously indicating that they came from a readymade jar.

Dessert: skipped it!

Atmosphere: The upstairs party room looked cheap and was either too cold or too hot. The table decor was good, but that was it.

Service: slow.

All I can say is that I will never go there again and will certainly never recommend it to anyone! Apologies but even though I did not pay I feel ripped off.
