Chapter One
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
We live in Blackheath therefore have frequented the sister to chapter one, chapter two!! I heard that this was better and I must say I agree. We went for the 7 course taster menu, it was wonderful, you couldnt fault the flavours, presentation and helpful staff especially the Maitre d/sommelier-not sure which one he was. We were extremely happy with the bill which was £120 incl of service and a bottle of wine. This is the best restaurant in Kent bar none!

This place is fantastic - no other description will do!
I have visited 5 times in the past 2 years and on each ocasion have enjoyed a superb meal, for a brilliant price and outstanding service to match.
An example of why I think the service is great? Well, my slim Oriental wife (not used to drinking too much) got over-excited with the beautiful wine on our last visit and almost passed out at our table, towards the end of the meal: it was quite a dramatic sight!
In a flash, 3 waiters came from out of nowhere and helped to revive her.. they even carried out one of the lovely blue chairs to the front door, to provide fresh air and ordered us a taxi... now that's what I call service almost beyond the call!
P.S.
Hope they'll let us back in when we book next time - this place is just too good to stay away from for too long::))

I went for Sunday dinner for my 18th birthday with a few friends. The service was excellent: quick yet unobtrusive, even though we were the youngest people in the restaurant they treated us very well. The food was divine: I would definitely recommend the Parfait of Caramel & Sea Salt, Toasted marshmallows & Chocolate Sabayon. It was also excellent value for money, only £22.95 for 3 courses. I would certainly be going back there for my next birthday.

We booked Chapter One for our first wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We went on a Sunday so had the set Sunday lunch menu and the choice was excellent and food was delicious! Staff are fabulous - friendly and attentive but unobtrusive - truly excellent service. To be honest, we could not fault anything - 10 out of 10 - we can't wait to go back!

My husband organised private dining upstairs for 28 of our friends and family for my 40th birthday back in May, it was a wonderful surprise, the food was excellent, the service great, the LPR flowed and everyone had a great time. Several friends have been back since and we're going there for our annual Christmas get-together in December. Thank you for help make my birthday one to really remember!
