The Piccadilly

We went there yesterday evening - unfortunately without the 50% off food offer.

Its a pleasant enough venue but nothing special. We didn't over indulge, shared a starter and my friend had the 'special menu'. The starter was very nice the main courses nothing to write home about. We shared a very ordinary Valpolicella priced at £19.90 plus 12.5% service charge came out at £26.90. We had tap water and a coffee each at the end.

The bill for this was £77, over 10% of what I take home in a week. In simple terms the meal was just not worth it.

Thankfully at least we were on the ground floor, the upstairs I would recommend for coach parties only.

We are a mid 20's couple who went to The Piccadilly for a meal last night. Service was a little slow at first, but only due to a mis-understanding and from then on service was excellent. The food was delicious - much better than I expected as I am vegetarian but there was a good selection. The food came fast, the wine was great and all at reasonable prices. A little bit of trouble claiming our 50% discount as I was told I could choose from either menu, but they did give it to us in the end so we left a decent tip on top of the service.

All in all a nice little restaurant, lovely on the inside, and would go there again but probably only with the discount.

I agree with the reviewer below. The food is pretty bland and the ingredients not so fresh. If we hadn't got a half price deal it would have been really overpriced. The staff were nice enough, but I won't be going back - I could cook better at home myself!

I am amazed by these reviews. I went on sunday night with a group of 11 people. The set menu is cheap, although they make up for it with the wine (£19 for a bottle of frascatti?!!). The food was average at best. Luke warm and lacking flavour and imagination.

The service was good (although they add a cover charge of £1.50 per person as well as 12.5% service charge onto the bill - may have been because we were a group).

If you stick to the set menu and avoid the wine it will be a cheap meal, but even so, I definitely would not return.

we had exellent time at this restaurant, food was served nice and hot by such lovely and friendly waitress,it was not either busy or quite just right to enjoy ourselves and relax with our friends. we recommend this restaurant to go with friends or a group of people and unwind. great location!!

The service is the best thing about this place. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful particularly after we discovered the roof terrace and asked to be moved. On a Thursday night we were the only two on the first floor all evening. The roof terrace is tiny - just enough room for 2 tables of 2 but at least we were able to dine al fresco. The food isn't brilliant and without the 50% off offer it's certainly not worth the full price. (Drinks are not included in the deal). We had the salmon steak with sauted potatoes; fried courgettes and green beans. It was fine not outstanding. We then had cheese and biscuits which consisted of some 6 cheeses cut into fingers served with crackers and Ryvita. The bill for the 2 of us for a main course and dessert, plus a bottle of house red, two glasses of red, still water, and service was £55. I would go back but only withthe 50% off deal

Ate here the other night pre-show. Service was quick and staff friendly. Food ok but wouldn't rave about it. Portion sizes were on the small side for Italian. I had the scampi which came with nothing other than the sauce it was covered in - was at least expecting some rice or the odd vegetable! Also bit steep to charge a cover charge of £1.50 a head (supposedly to cover the olives and bread you are given upon arrival - but you weren't exactly given a choice!) and 12.5% service charge. Wouldn't race back.

everything about this restaurant was smashing great we just had one of our best evening experence in london. we enjoyed ourselves so much that we will recommend it to our friends in germany. thank you all the staff at the piccadilly.

£1.50 cover chanrge and house wine at £15.50 per bottle. Food was nothing special and we ended up paying £40 per head. I won't go back.

we had pre theatre dinner on saturday 02/12/06.the restaurant was completely fulland the atmsphere was exiting and wonderfull.the food was served in good time and tasted delicious.staff are welcoming and friendly.great restaurant for food and wine lovers.we had such wonderful time that we will be back for more of this lovely restaurnt.
