This was the best Moroccan restaurant I have tried so far! Absolutely great food and service. The atmosphere was fab, full of life, but at the same time lovely and relaxing. Belly dancer was a nice surprise! Will definitely return!

Disappointing night at this restaurant. Was in a party of 25 and we were crammed in between two smaller parties on the basement floor. Food took ages to be served especially between courses and there was not enough to go around, although what we did have was very nice. Extra dishes were brought to the table after our plates had been cleared! Manager only offered us a 'doggy bag' to take extra food away. A reduction on the bill or service charge was requested (set menu meal was £25 per head + 12.5% service) but flatly refused by the manager. Entertainment (belly dancer and drummer) was fun. Certainly won't be returning to this restaurant.

Lovely, Lovely venue set in the heart of soho was a real find, ten of us from work attended and we had a great time. Fantasic food, really enjoyed pastilla and tagine lamb. Service was attentive and will definetly go back. Smoked a Shisha pipe outside which was unusual and watch a belly dancer who was stunning will definelty go back.

Went there for lunch 3 days ago. Didn't like the food at all, no taste at all.

The couscous veg where absolutely tasteless. The wine wasn't too far from a cherry vinegar and to finish the top of the top: DON'T GO TO THE TOILET.

Pitiful. Lovely setting, miserable and incompetent service. A lamb tagine consisted of four small chunks of lamb and three rather bigger chunks of gristle. Hot and cold starters were mediocre at best and overpriced. Don't be tempted by the welcoming, on-street seating and nice-looking menu, this is absolutely dreadful.

I have been dining at this restaurant for like 2 years and never been disappointed. I've been to morocco and if you would like real moroccan food, this is the place to go in all of soho!

The service is top notch, the staff is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your dinner enjoyable.

The food is absolutely wonderful!

I used to think one had to go all the way to morocco to get real arabic food, I don't think that way anymore!

Try it, you will enjoy it!!!!

We went to Maison Touareg last night and had an unsatisfactory experience.

Firstly, the waitress forgot the pitta bread with our starters. Okay, that's an easy mistake to make and we could have pointed it out earlier but we just thought that they didn't serve bread with the starters. When we got our bread, we only had a little bit of moussaka left.

We were only half-way through our main course when the man who seemed to be the owner, or maître d’ placed our bill on the table.

We were dining outside at a pavement table. Towards the end of our main course, two staff members told us they needed to swap our table for a different, larger one because they needed our small table inside. I don't mean they wanted us to move; they physically swapped the table. However, they'd already taken away our table, leaving my girlfriend holding her plate before they thought to say, "Oh, I'm sorry, madam. Were you still eating?" The table they replaced it with wasn't much larger than the one they removed. They also took away our remaining pitta bread.

When we mentioned all of this to the maître d’ while paying he said that they swapped the table for us because he saw that we had a small table and he wanted us to have a better one. I don't believe that for a second because it contradicted what the other staff said and they changed it at the very end of the meal, not the beginning. The maître d’ had the opportunity to apologise and repair the situation but he failed.

Whilst paying, he handed me the card machine and said if I wanted to add a tip, to press the appropriate button and enter the amount. Presumably, he hoped we hadn't noticed there was already a 10% service charge added to the bill, which I felt like refusing to pay. However, that would only have affected the waitress with whom I had no gripe. So I decided to review the restaurant instead.

Thankfully, the food was better than the service although not entirely without fault. The moussaka was delicious and I couldn't fault the felafel. My Samakeh Harrah (peppered fish in Mediterranean spices) was tasty. My girlfriend's grilled Trout Maison Touareg, served with some cucumber, prawns and almonds was also tasty but the fish hadn't been cleaned properly.

For two starters, two main courses and two glasses of lemonade, the bill came to £40. £12.50 for trout in Soho seems a bit expensive, especially considering the poor service.
