In a Soho full of fake italian restaurants La Perla was the real one. A restaurant where the staff were clearly long serving and dedicated, where you could always ask for pasta not on the menu, where the Veal chops were huge and perfect every time, where a Zabaglioni would always be produced on request and where good chianti was not overpriced.

I came to London just for dinner here and am astounded that it has vanished without trace to be replaced by some bistro fit only for the kind of undiscerning youth that seems now to dominate London.

Where are they now? Please set up again somewhere - come to Cambridge - a city without a single decent restaurant!

If its all over - thankyou for the memory anyway.

We live in the states and come to London once a year. I can't believe I am reading that LaPerla on Brewer has closed! we look forward to a meal there whenever we visit. When did this happen? does anyone know if they indeed relocated? we love their food and such wonderful service!

We have been customers of La Perla since 1996 and have always had a relaxed great meal there, We are so sad to see that it has closed down, We would of liked to say goodbye to these wonderful people, does anyone know if they have re-allocated or just retired hopefully to the Italian sunshine. They have always been totally professional, and so friendly. I cant think of one negative thing to say about them. Etoilé, Lino and Guisseppe, if you ever read this, we will miss you all so much, and thank you sincerely for all your wonderful service and the many many many times we have dined with you.

I went to La Perla last week to celebrate a friends 50th birthday and as always the service was impeccable and the food very reasonable priced at an excellent standard. My starter of green asparagus was cooked to perfection and my main dish penne abriatta was spicy and delicious. I would recommend this cosy restaurant to anyone who enjoys Italian food!

I was taken to La Perla for my birthday meal there was six of us in total and I had always wanted to try the Ravioli as this seemed the only Italian restaurant where it was on the menu. The staff were very friendly and polite and well turned out too. There was lots of delicious hot bread to munch whilst we were waiting for our course which was plentiful and delicious and we had two bottles of wine along with water as well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we stayed there quite late and no pressure to leave. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone even though the bill came to £200.00 which we did think was a tad pricey considering what we had.

I first went to La Perla about 12 or 13 years ago on recommendation with my husband. We have had both long relaxed meals that have lasted all evening (we have never been hurried out of the door so that they can lay the table for another meal - the table has been ours from 6pm until at least 11.30 without any bother) and quick snacks (in, ate and out in 30 minutes) on our way to or from the theatre. My husband died in 2004 and it took a deep intake of breath to go there on my own.....I should never have worried, the staff were as pleased to see me on my own as they were when I went with my husband. The food has always been excellent, but if there's ever anything worng or if you're not satisfied tell them, they will always try to accommodate you. This is a little family run Italian restaurant that is one of London's gems. Do yourself a favour....go there....try it for yourself.....and I bet you'll be as hooked as I am....!!

La Perla impressed us immediately, Beautifully presented with staff impeccable and attentive. It was a hot afternoon and my feet were aching from walking. I was rejuvenated here. The food and wine were wonderful and the atmosphere welcoming, friendly and relaxing. I wanted for nothing such was the level of service. It was so nice to marvel at the quality of the food whilst listening to everyone chatting in Italian. Always a good sign if Italians go there to eat and they do. The price was very reasonable. We had two courses each, Wine, water and Coffee for £50. Everything was excellent and I had my photo taken outside. I would definately recommend this restaurant.

I absolutely loved this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone.

We visited London for my birthday and wanted to eat somewhere with a good atmosphere, good food and overall gave real value for money (not too much to ask then!) we stumbled on La Perla and were very happy we did.

As lovers of italian food our standards are pretty high and we found the portions to be generous, full of flavour and good value. There were three of us and we each had three courses as well as 2 bottles of wine and after dinner liquors and it came to about £100. The staff were really friendly and considering we turned up at a peak time on a Friday night without a reservation when they were really busy they did their upmost to accommodate us and we were in no way rushed through dinner (i've been to some places where they serve you three courses in the space of 30 minutes)

There's a good range of pizzas pastas and "meat and vegatable" courses catering for all tastes and for those with lighter appetities they offer starters as main course dishes.

Overall a great restaurant that i would recommend to anyone

I went for dinner at the restaurant because I walk passed it almost everyday on the way from work and I absolutely LOVE Italian food!

It was fantastic! The food was fabulous! Generous portions and so tasty! We each has a main meal plus veggies on the side and a dessert. A bottle of wine between us as well as port each after dessert. I had a veal and my partner had a steak! Both absolutely gorgeous and I am in fact going there again for Valentine's Day because I thought it was THAT good! Relaxed and cosy atmosphere and really helpful staff too!
