Very dissapointing. We went there as at the door it said "mediterranean food" but nothing to do with that. All the food tasted like pre-cooked, the feta pastry was full of oil, chiken had a strange flavour and many dishes were full of vinegar.

Waiters were running all over the restaurant so instead to have a nice time you felt so stressed. Also they were so unfriendly and the communication amoung them was so bad that they gave us different answers to the same request. It was really annoying.

The portions were ridiculous small and the bill like the one in a good restaurant, which is too far from "The red onion" .

It made our saturday night awful :-(

We went there as a party of six after a Wednesday matinee and was very disappointed. The feta pastry starter had been cooked in oil that was burnt and tasted terrible. The chicken used in the main couses was prccessed chicken not fresh. They came with chips instead of rice as described on menu. The cauliflower was completely raw and to top it off the chicken serviced in the childs dinner was raw in the middle. They really do need to try harder. I would definately not go again.

The Red Onion was disappointing for several reasons. The restaurant was cold, service was slow & unfriendly and the starters were terribly presented and didn't have much else to recommend them. A decent steak undid some of the damage but I wouldn't go back. It was also a LOT more expensive than a far superior meal the previous night.

We have taken our friends who live in France to West End based Red Onion Restuarant in December. We were a party of 4 adults and 4 children and turned up at the restaurant without a booking. Service was attentive and the food was excellent. I would not hesitate to go there again.

Last Saturday afternoon, 2 December, we were in the area and tired from shoping and went to Red Onion for a meal and rest. My wife and I ordered Sea Bass from fish menu and my daughter pasta. The fish was delicous and well presented. We thanked the chef Nerman personally and surprisingly go free dessert and coffee. We promised him to write a review. Here we are. I recommend all to try when they are in the area.

If you're looking for good service, a warm atmosphere, great food and value for money, I recommend begging on the street over the Smeg Onion.
