Soho Pizzeria

Went Friday night with friends & had a bit of a curate's egg of an evening. The pizzas are very ordinary and arguably the ones served in the behemoth that is Pizza Express (who as another below has pointed out, own Soho Pizzeria) are better - which is not saying much.

Service was polite but unpredictable and at times downright chaotic.

Atmosphere remains the best aspect of the place and although it was busy with a steady stream of punters waiting inside the door, the staff were happy for us to stay drinking at the table long after we finished our food which was appreciated.

The bill was modest, but given the quality of the food (the input costs of which must surely be measured in pence given the size of the pizzas and sparsity of toppings) it was about fair.

All in all, an ok option for 'middle-class fast food' which is what Pizza Express group restaurants offer. Would I rush back...not in a hurry.

So disappointing. I'm sure the pizzas were prepared from frozen - you could easily eat better at home. Tough to cut with a normal knife, rubbery. Small as well. Dough balls terrible. Lost its independent vibe as it was taken over by Pizza Express (Gondola Group) in late 2011 (and it shows - my previous experience here a couple of years ago was very good). Good, friendly service was the one positive.

Went for a dinner there on a friday night, everything was perfect,loved the live jazz music,food was tasty,pizzas are good sizes and with generous topinngs, staff is very attentive and friendly..prices are very good for central london..will definitely be going back very soon.top marks!
