Four of us dined at Hush yesterday evening. The ambience was great and location, was great, however, the food was utterly disappointing. It was expensive and below average. Hamburgers were overcooked, with no greenery whatsoever, the chips were overcooked and tasted of old oil. The risotto came in a plate which resembled a bathroom sink and looked and tasted decidedly unappetising and again no green leaves to make it look a little bit more visually pleasing. How do you complain when you entertain friends from overseas? Very disappointing.

Have to agree with the disappointed others. Perhaps a major change is due? Few years back was the place to be - But it never moved and times are changing - other restaurant are much much better. Food is very very basic - a gastro pub nowadays has a better degree of cooking. Not worth going there for the food - Go upstairs in the bar to enjoy. Not recomended.

Food very average. Service, whilst not unfriendly, was slow and unprofessional.

Plates cleared when people hadn't finished eating and then not cleared for some time. Bill took a long time to come and then it seemed to be an issue asking if they could advise the split for a number of people.

Afterwards in the bar, glasses piling up on the after being cleared from tables.

Overall, a shadow of it's former self when it opened back in the day.

Won't be returning for some time.

I found Hush to be something of an enigma. Unquestionably a terrific setting and with a good looking menu, it promised great things. Unfortunately, for all the promises, to my mind it failed to deliver.

I was dining with a large group and had pre-ordered for ease. We were given bread to nibble and an olive oil can placed on the table. When I had the temerity to ask for butter, the waitress seemed unsure but her manager shot my request down with a flat "no". Do people not eat bread & butter any more? Not in Hush apparently.

The tuna in my 'rare tuna salad with soy and ginger dressing' starter was ok, but the dish was insubstantial and I couldn't detect the ginger. The Hush Hamburger that followed wasn't hot, as others below have commented, so ordinary as to not merit further comment (ditto the pommes frites). This may have been due to having to provide multiple covers simultaneously, but surely that should not be beyond a well run kitchen?

Overall I can't help but feel that for all its redeeming qualities, Hush is a venue that is (if you'll please excuse the pun) dining out on its reputation. A pleasant evening let down by the food and, to a lesser extent, the service.

Casual dining with a colleague last night in town we picked on Hush Brasserie and it fitted the bill perfectly. A balanced menu offering good value and an excellent selection of well priced wines by the glass. The welcome and service was warm and efficient which is always a big plus for me and the whole restaurant had a nice buzz overall with a mix of clientèle. This was my second visit in the last few months and I would confidently return again.

Was dining there with friends on 3 November. This is really the worst place i've been to in London. I had a fish pie, tuna salad and chocolate pot. I tried a little piece of salad and didn't dare to eat more. Fish pie was a little bit more eatable, however not worth the price you have to pay for it, dessert - the same story. Even cocktails didn't save the overall bad picture. Classical bellini which i thought can never be spoiled, was not even worth trying it. Service was slow and waiters were not showing up that they are glad to see us there. Although before going there we've read the reviews which were not good, we went there thinking that there is always a place for hope! But believe me, this is not the case with this place!! If you want spend a good evening out, have good food and drinks in Mayfair, you' d better go to Cocoon, Trader Vic's or Buddha bar. You'll spend the same money there but get a lot more positive emotions.

The only good thing about this place are lotions in toilets.

Never got to this place! Believe me...

It was the best meal we have had for a long time. The service was excellent - our waiter preempted our every wish; the atmosphere was spot on; and the food and wine were exquisite - in particular steak followed by the rice pudding were all cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning soon!
