Went here last night, and was a bit worried about the level of service to expect. Ended up perfectly happy. Good service, decent food and generally a nice place.

despite spending over five hundred pounds, our waitress wanted to turn us away at 9.20 because she said the kitchen was closing, and was abrubt and rude throughout.
they then charged us 65 pounds to bring a birthday cake.
the place was empty and lacking in any atmosphere or charm.

Excellent wednesday evening here - perfect start to the evening when the barman overheard us discussing cocktails, read our mind and had them ready for when we ordered! Great service. In restaurant was no different. Good attentive staff and decent food. V happy.

Thursday night out . We decided to go to hush and luckly we booked a table for for. Nice restaurant, good vibing atmosphere, even the food impressed us. I just wish we had some service though. For the whole evening we've seen the manager (wearing a suit and tie) either chatting up the two ladies at the bar ar polishing glasses behind the bar. It seem that no one told the staff at hush that people go in a restaurant to be served - hence the service charge. It's so much nicer to go in a place and be at least asked if everything is in order, or if we need anything else. There was a bigger group that ours, where someone litterary stood up and waved like he was on a airport runaway - just to get some kind of attention.
It's a shame, that a place like this can't get simple things right.
Overall we liked the place , the food was close to excelent - but what a service.......

I wholeheartedly agree with the reviewer who commented that the chef didn't care about his food. I can only think that the people who come here and return must have a similar antipathy towards eating. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where the food was cooked so badly, and it's not even anywhere near cheap.
I ordered the salmon, which was overcooked to the point of being inedible. I've had tinned salmon that was more succulent. The soy and ginger sauce it came with had no discernible ginger in it and resembled nothing so much as a mass-produced gloopy hoisin. And the broccoli which it was atop disintegrated on contact with a fork. The only positive thing about the dish was that it was not as small as the ridiculous portions that other members of the party were served. Dover sole was three finger-sized strips of, again overcooked, fish, served with a couple of fronds of watercress - which would be mean even as a starter. And how does 4 scallops and a couple of tired croutons constitute a main dish?
The evening may have been less completely disappointing if perhaps the service had been outstanding. Unfortunately the staff were hopeless - when I asked for a fuller description of the rare tuna salad on the menu, the reply I got was " its, like, raw tuna and, like, mixed salad" ..
In short, please don't go here if you take any pleasure in eating..

on my recent trip to london, we decided to visit hush, i was bittely disapointed to have been given a seat under the stairs, even though the place was quiet........... service was slow, staff were rude..... no ohne asked if everything was ok.. i felt as if it was a hassle to have us there. only 2 of us! so the following night we had a party for 12 booked, and straight away we cancelled... they didnt seem to care....

Good quality brasserie style food. One of the worst service in Mayfair. The Manageress - (i think with a new zealand accent) should understand that the customers pay her wages. Lack of personality doesn't help at all.
