I have to say the bad reviews on here are pretty ridiculous! I found the service absolutely fine, the food was really nice and as for white wine being served in red wine glasses- get a life!

I liked this place very much and am going back this weekend, don't let bad reviews stop you going.

I have been going to this restaurant for a long time. I would agree that the service is not that fast however I have always found the staff very friendly and polite.

I actually use their take out service - you have to collect it but they give you a 300ml bottle of indian beer! I have always found the food to be fresh and very reasonably priced. I have never been served anything cold. The best dish is the Chicken Paneer Pallak, the Shaslick is delicious as is the brinjal bhajee (aubergine) dish.

A great place to get upset and frustrated and leave hungry for too much money.

This place is one of the worst my husband and I have been for a long, long time. The service - including the manager - is incompetent, inefficient, lazy, unfriendly and impertinent with an arrogant and appalling attitude to complaining.

The white wine was served in red wine glasses and the food is everything else but Indian cuisine. The starters were cold, dry and tasteless, the Saag Paneer, spinach with a homemade Indian style cheese which texture is a little bit like Mozzarella, was spinach with normal cheese melted in (when we saw that we knew why the waiter was laughing while taking our order). The Butter Chicken was a piece of dry chicken breast in a tomato sauce and the Naan bread was not soft but dry, hard and burnt.

What a pity for the great location and what a wonder the restaurant still exists. It really seems that the English have no eating culture at all.

The food is good enough and the restaurant is clean and nicely done out but the service IS pretty dreadful. During a recent visit with friends we ended up having quite a laugh about how terribly inefficient the service was but others may not find it quite so amusing. Here are just a few examples -

Being asked if we were ready to order before we had been given a menu.

Having to repeat request several times over before we were understood.

Being told they don't serve filter coffee when I had just seen a waiter walk past with a pot of filtered coffee.

Being give the dessert menu twice.

The list goes on. If you are uptight about good service, don't go.

What a shame. A great location and a super site should ensure a great visit to

the The Wimbledon Tandoori. However, a catalogue of incompetencies made sure we left upset, frustrated and hungry.

I won't bore you with a blow-by-blow. I've wasted enough time (and money)

on the place already. Suffice to say the following; if you like indifferent, lazy

service coupled with freezing cold curry and an appalling attitude to

complaining, then you should get yourself down to the Wimbledon Tandoori.

Not only do they pride themselves on serving inedible, tasteless indian

cuisine they also manage to do so in a charmless, incompetent way. Quite a

feat, i'm sure you'll agree.

The place was packed, proving yet again that the great British public really

will eat anything. Definitely in my top ten worst dining experiences of 2007...

I have found for the last two years this to be the best overall rated curry house is south west London. For great tasting, well proportioned meals, ambience 'of-note', value for money and service incomparable with most a 5 star or 10/10.

Go and eat there...

With its recent face lift this good eatery has turned into quite a funky place to eat.

The food is very good and is certainly the best curry house in "the village", if not SW London - I haven't tried them all so can't really compare.

The service is friendly, efficient and the waiters will offer advice if you don't know your curries.

I will certainly go back and it might even become my weekly treat.
