Claridge's Bar

I was there on New Years Eve, as a party of three for pre dinner drinks.

We ordered: 1 x virgin cocktail, 1 x apple martini, 1 x reg macallan 18 + 1 x large macallans 18

As there was no seats we stood at the bar where we ordered our drinks. And was there for about 30 mins.

The bill cames to £79.00 (that for 4 drinks). I don't mind paying for expensive so long as I have great service, seats and treated as such that £79 for 4 drinks is worth it. But I didn't feel that. I could have been standing at any pub bar. If the bar is so small that it can't hold that many seats then charging foir those prices is just plain not value for money. So few people, no atmosphere and a drafty door by the bar to boot. Nice.

I was there with my wife and another couple for a drink after dinner.

2 rums on the rock, 2 rum and coke, 2 glasses of champagne for ONLY 153£ which I order directly standing at the bar.

I don't mind spending even more in a disco or a bar with a nice atmosphere but in that bar was nothing special, actually it was quite boring.

I have never paid such price for 6 drinks except 15 years ago an Hungarian Strip Club (with all services included)
