Menu = Excellent choice of dishes
Tariff = Excellent (was very surprised)
All in all this restaurant is a little gem, seems to be hidden away from the hustle and bustle of London life but should be out there with the rest. Very friendly staff, polite and curteous. Clean, tidy and if you like cosy.
Would certainly eat there again without a doubt.

With all the displays of their awards, The Empress seems to have become complacent in the past few months. Order was wrong, the main, which I had asked to be spicy, was so bland I had to put tabasco sauce on it just for some flavour. Vegetable curry was nothing but onions floating in gravy with one sad piece of cauliflower. The chickpeas in the chana masala tasted like they had come out of the can and just been warmed up in a load of oil. Shame as the service is very nice. Hope they manage to improve things. Disappointing.

I've ate in there occasionally for the last 10 years and it's ok.
The best restaurant in London it is not, it's a Brick Lane standard restaurant with a photo shopped photo of Anthony Worrall-Thompson with the staff, need I paint a bigger picture.
