The Real Greek Souvlaki & Bar Bankside

We were in there today. Although the mezedes have shrunk a little since our last year's visit, the quality was excellent and every bit as good as I remember it all.

Visited this restaurant a few days ago and had a very nice evening. The view is great, food was delicious, service was a bit slow, but still ok. will bring my family next time..

Been there a few days ago with my family. Food is above average, mezedes the best value although still on the pricey side, but lovely and highly authentic, especially the calamari. Not too many greek wines, but still nice.

Service was a bit slow, but not tooo bad.

Very nice evening, will come back soon.

We have been at the the real Greek several times in past 6 months and every time we had great time. Souvlakis for £6 offer is good value for money and the food was delicous. Their staff is really friendly and we will be definitely coming back

We had dinner here last night and were again impressed with the food (so tasty!), the service and value for money. We were particularly impressed that we were given 2 complimentary baklava as the manager thought that we had been kept waiting for too long - although we hadn't noticed!

I visited The Real Greek on Valentines day of this year (2008) and it was fairly busy but not crowded, creating a great atmosphere. The waitress was friendly as were all the staff we encountered. The portions however were very small considering the price and as it got busier the service started to become slower to the point where we had to wait ten minutes to try and attract the attention of a waitress to get out bill.

On the whole a lovely restaurant and worth going to, if you've got time and money to spare.

Not very good at all. Service was rushed and surly and we had to send back the lamb souvlaki as it was SO tough - totally inedible. The mixed souvlaki selection was served cold! Would not recommend and would certainly never return.

Nine of us visited this place last Saturday for lunch. Although they lost my reservation, the manager was able to seat us within 20 minutes of arriving so no huge problem there. Food was great, hot and cold mezes were excellent, although the long tables are not ideal for big parties. Partially spoiled by one main course & one hot meze not turning, (and our waitress not believing us!).

All in all a very nice place to have lunch, but not sure if I would rush back - there are plenty of other places to go.

Excellent food, fresh, well prepared and presented. The grill is out of this world! Starters are normal size, souvlakis are great! beautiful view as well, great ambiance. I'm definately coming back.

I was disappointed. Purely because I was expecting more ! A little salad garnish maybe, a humus dip on the side - just a little something - but the plates where bare !!! The food was tasty, but it just lacked ooopmh and zing, it was so disappointed to recieve a small side plate with meat wrapped in bread and nothing else as a main.

Not sure if its worth the money, a Kebab from a decent take away is the same price and comes with more Garnish and has quicker service.
