La Pampa Grill

I was dying to have a good Argentinian steak and was very dissapointed with La Pampa Grill. Having been to Argentina and to several Argentinian steak houses around the world I have to say I was very surprised by the low quality of the food and the limited menu. After we finished our meal I was curious about the place and decided to ask one of the waiters about it, turns out this Argentinian place is owned by two Colombians! That made everything clear, its like getting fish & chips from a Frenchman!

We are regulars at la pampa and have been for a couple of years. We always get amazing steaks and the norton cabernet sauvignon is awesome. Service is always quick and although they try to push you through they dont mind being told to wait if you dont want to rushed. I've not had a better fillet steak than la pampas anywhere in london.

This was the most disappointing meal I have had in a long time!

The starter of plam hearts in pink sauce is tinned artichokes and bottled Heinz thousand island, on a bed of lettuce. My boyfriend and I both ordered the fillet steak, medium rare, but when it arrived it was actually very well done and dry - fundamental mistake for somewhere that's supposed to be one of the best Argentinian steak houses in london. When I asked to take mine back I was met with incredulous faces from the waiting staff - after I had to actually prove to the watiting staff that it was in fact well done they took it back and replaced it (the staff were actually quite rude and surrounded me like a pack of wolves, which was really embarrassing!)

The food is not good at all here, steak comes out on a bit of wilted lettuce, like you'd find at a Harvester, and the meat is not good quality. You have to purchase side orders separately as well which is excessive when the meat itsefl is pricey. The only redeeming thing was the wine, we had a very good Cabernet Sauvignon for a reasonable price. Overall, very expensive tough - our bill came to 70 pounds for 2 and I felt thoroughly ripped off. I will not be returning.

Terrible restaurant. Overpriced, old potatoes, dried cucumber in the salad, steak was ok, staff were unwelcoming. We arrived at 8pm and told we had to leave by 9pm! By then though I was quite glad to get out of there even if it did mean paying for an overpriced and disappointing meal in order to leave! Don't go there. There are plenty of better restaurants around. Even Macdonald's would be less disappointing - at least you know what to expect!

Disappointing. The duck was delicious, but we were stuck on a table between the stairs and the kitchen, where there was an an overpowering smell which I couldn't decide reminded me more of a pool or toilets. Staff were unfriendly and a bit weird. Made me feel very uncomfortable every time he came over. Was glad to leave.

i think this restaurant is very pleasant the staff are friendly and like to converse with the customers. The portions are big (apart from the fillet steak) i would reccomend the striploin. i find this restaurant very calming the music is just right and the food is delicious. I would reccomend it to meat lovers as the quality of their beef is superb!!!!!!!!!! (especially as one of the waitors is my fiancee)

Meat, Chips, Eggs & Red Wine fairly simple equation for success applied here... Crap for veggies but is as close to a Argentine steak fest as you can get in SW London.
