Went over the weekend - food was bad, staff were bad.

Total waste of time.

I could cook better thai food myself.

I ate at Bangkok Bay yesterday evening and had a fantastic meal. Today I went online to get the address in order recommend a friend only to find such terrible reviews. I am shocked by what has been written below and believe that this is one of the best Thai Restaurants I have ever eaten at. Including my time travelling in Thailand!

The waitress was very sweet, and even though we ate very late at the restaurant the food was freshly prepared and tasted simply wonderful. I would highly recommend.

This really has to be up there with the worst restaurants I have ever been to.

The food is simply terrible. First, it just does not taste anything like Thai food (and I am a big lover of Thai food, and have also been to Thailand). Not only does it not use any of the Thai spices, it also uses completely wrong ingredients. Well, it does use almost none of the ingredients you would expect. No basil, no lemongrass, no kefir lime leaves, no aubergines, hell, even no ginger. But I did have some cucumbers in my green curry :)

But once you accept that the food does not taste like Thai, you realise it just tastes bad. Only spice that was used abundantly - salt.

I tried: Tom Kha soup, green curry chicken, cashew nut beef.

And it all cost 25 quid for 2 people (no drinks).

Service was acceptable, there was a mistake in our order (we got a dish we hadn't ordered, but it was taken away without any trouble), but the atmosphere seemed very artificial.

My flatmates and I recently ordered from Bangkok Bay for dinner.

I ordered a main stir fry dish and asked for extra chicken. Not only was this delivered with no extra chicken, the dish was also half full. My previous experiences with takeaway have always had the takeaway containers completely full.

I rang to complain about my half full dish and was told that the dishes are weighed and that the broccoli probably weighs more - absolute BS.

The employee offered no resolution and simply said 'thanks, bye' and hung up on me. Shocking customer service and I cannot believed the employee offered no help.

If it is any consolation my flatmates enjoyed their (full) dishes.

Red curry here is amazing!!! I just had a wonderful night with my partner last Friday night.

I love the food here, it is a mild original Thai taste with not too strong herb and not too mild that loose the original taste. You pay less for kind of royal taste with fusion looks.

The dish came out beautifully with small decoration. I found hot plate dish order by another table looks very juicy and smell awesome, will definitely other that next time.

Customer service is quite good with very nice Thai lady, sad thing is, this place is getting famous and crowded these days...they should get more tables!

This place is utterly awful; my starters were deep-fried to hell, and the curry was just bland and tasteless... avoid at all costs!

This is a diabolical restaurant run by people who don't care. We ordered a takeaway this evening. One hour later it had not arrived so we called to find out where it was. They said they would call us back. they did not. I then spoke to a woman who said that the driver had been (he had not) and that he had returned. I asked him to come out again (we are about a mile away, no more) she refused and hung up on me! Disgusting, unprofessional behaviour and completely unacceptable. I then rang to speak to a manager - equally rude and unhelpful.

Whatever the food tastes like (I wouldn't know) there is no excuse for this behaviour. Absolutely disgusting, rude, callous behaviour. Not worth paying a penny for.
