Ravel's Bistro and Wine Bar

My boyfriend used to live up the road from this quirky little restaurant and we go as often as we can as we love it!
The modern European menu is varied and the food is cooked superbly. My boyfriend always has the chicken livers as they're cooked to perfection; left slightly pink on the inside with a crisp outside. However, the whole menu is wonderfully cooked so don't worry if you don't like livers!
The owner/chef sometimes comes out of the kitchen to serve or to see how everyone is getting on, and he is always very friendly and polite. The rest of the staff are equally as attentive and professional. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy, so I always end up spending longer than I usually would in a restaurant but am never rushed out or hurried along.
I have paid around 50 pounds a head (and more) for mediocre meals in restuarants half as good as this one, and would happily pay that here, but it is impossible! No main course is above 12 pounds, and with an early evening dinner special that will set you back the grand total of 10 pounds for 3 courses it is ridiculously good value for money.
It's always busy though, so if you want to go on a weekend evening then I advise you to book in advance!

This restaurant has a most welcoming atmosphere in a very delightful setting in one of the nicest parts of London, being Hampstead with it's rural atmosphere and lovely housing.
Ravel's Bistro offers marvellous cuisine with such a varied menu and the friendliness and highly professional but warm manner of the staff truly add to the atmosphere.
Lastly, one cannot fault this lovely restaurant when it comes to very good value for money.

What a find in the gastronomic desert of Hampstead! Excellent food, beautifully cooked and charming service. A small intimate space, more like someone's living room than a restaurant, modern European food with slight overtones of Poland - the chef is Polish, the red cabbage to die for! Our table had great deepfried mushroom with cream cheese and herbs and superb mussels a la creme as starters, Duck in pastry, fish cakes, ribeye steak for mains and wicked pancakes with apple and ice ream for pudding. Most starters cost £4.95, main courses £9.25.Blackboard specials marginally more.
