A gem of a restaurant. The mixed starter and bread we had for starters was delicious: generous portions of 4 different dishes all of which were excellent. The mains were beautifully cooked lamb and chicken. Tea afterwards was wonderfully refreshing. Service was very friendly, BYO is always welcome as it is much cheaper and the ambience of the place was charming. Highly recommended!

Chose this resto for a Surprise Bday, kebabs were good except they only do one dish of the day everyday aside from that everything were grilled and fussed about seeing too much meat on the table.Waitress spoiled the surprise when I whispered & asked for our bday cake, she came in and handed it to us with no candles while we look on in shock horror!! When I asked her why she did that, her answer was I didnt tell her and she wasnt sure where to place the candles,I almost walked out. I complained and told her she spoiled our surprise, she said they were busy and I should tell the manager. She totally spoiled the surprise for everyone - I should have demanded to take the tip off but couldnt care less, the next day some of us had stomach ache, never again.

I love Alounak. I have been there several times. I particularly love the Haleem Bademjoon and Salad olvieh and Mirza Ghassemi for starters and I have always loved the cholokababs. The service is good, too. I also love the tea there. One of the reviewers said the tea smelt like "chemicals"(!) I think he has not tasted cardamom in his life. Persian well-bred tea has a twist of cardamom. I love the fresh bread they make at the restaurant. It smells so appetizing.

I have been to this resturant many times over the last 10 year, it has always been very good. I think it depends on what you are looking for. The food is cooked very well, all cooked fresh, they even have a clay over for fresh tandoor nanas which is very nice with Houmous. Highly recommended. Actaully I am going tonight!!

After numerous visits to noor , we decided to check few other persian restaurants in london . Admit , we wasted our petrol and the money . Food was bad , specially the boneless kebab with lots of garlic on it . Halim bademjoon was very poor , small and tasteless . I would never ever go back .

I think the last reviewer must have gone on a rare off day. This is one of my local favourites and I have introduced several people over the years. The service is brisk and unfussy, the food always good and the ambience buzzy. The starters are a must - I quite often have two and skip the main course - especially the mixed starter which is a meal in itself. Best of all, they let you bring your own alcohol so we usually nip into the shop next door and enjoy a cold beer with our meal. My only criticism is that the main course comes with mountains of rice and I have never yet seen anyone finish it all, which feels like a waste. Prices are reasonable, even better since it's BYO, and value is good. You may have to queue at busy times but, having walked past it almost every day for years, it is ALWAYS busy which bodes well.
