Best Mangal

The recently refurbished Best Mangal 2 is very good and should not be considered in the same bracket as other typical kebab shops.
Pass the smart but fairly typical kebab shop counter and head to the dining room at the back. We had a couple of small starters (tomato and aubergine thing and some tabule) with really good freshly baked bread and then I had a delicious mixed pide (Turkish pizza) which came with a small pile of fresh and appetising salad. Really fresh and really good. It is not that cheap but the freshness and quality makes it good value in my opinion.

A real joy. For all the people who never touch kebabs becuase you've been put off by some of the sweating offerings you've seen in the past, this place will turn you around.
It's friendly, well-priced, and the food is terrific. They do the basics (kofte, shish) really well, and have some great off-piste options (aubergine kebabs, quail kebabs).
A good takeaway venue too, this somewhere really worth visiting (about twice a week).
I suggest you take a date there. If they don't like it - ditch them; you can do better.

Had been meaning to try it for a while but feared that it might be one of these random 'shabby chic' places that suddenly become trendy because some grungy celebrity has been seen staggering out one night clutching a takeaway. How wrong I was. I only had a kofta to take away but it was undoubtedly the best kofta I have ever eaten. Incredible flavoursome meat and my god the homemade bread was spectacular. I loved the inside with the wood fired oven and will definitely be back for a meal in the fun-looking dining room.

Having walked past this restaurant for years without entering, I started kicking myself for not having tries it sooner.
Needless to say that I now find myself eating there and taking away at least 3 times a week.
The food is marvelous - I recommend the Cop Sish (3 lamb scwewers grilled on open charcoal BBQ, although there are do kmany things to try.
The waiting staff are very bubbly, especially towards their regular customers but be warned, tables are scarce at the height of lunchtime and very diffult in the evening without booking.
Enjoy it - this isn't the only rave review !

Oh yes - since my first encounter on a dreary January Sunday afternoon when the Best Mangal saved me from the worst hangover ever, to endless meals in with friends and family and take aways at all hours this place is simple, quality & faboulas. Wicked kebabs, wonderful meze and the Yoghurt and bread with BBQ meat is devine. The flat bread is freshly prepared on the premesis & I've never had better. Its a warm friendly place, very poplular & deservedly so. TOP MARKS - note there is now a bigger BEST MANGEL a short walk further up North End Road (towards Olympia) if the small original is full. Same food, same principles, same quality.

The best Turkish kebab you will find this side of Istanbul. Warm and cosy atmosphere around the charcoal "ocak" (barbecue) and everything fresh out of the kitchen including the bread and salads.
Just go and taste it!

I have eaten in many, many restaurants in London, from what are considered the "best" restaurants, to basic neighbourhood eateries.
The Best Mangal, is my all time favourite. Excellent staff, great atmosphere, and superb food. They could charge a lot more for the quallity that they dish up, but I'm glad they don't.
I would have been to the Best Mangal over 100 times I'd say!
