Had lunch there today. Very disappointing. Very poor service - matching the poor quality food. I realise that it is the Isle of Dogs East End but at West End prices come on!

The owners need to go further afield and understand the quality being offered elsewhere to help themselves improve their standards and quality. A good understanding and fluency in Polish would help the customer communicate with the waiters and waitresses.

The coffee was good - but that's all.

Took a group of 17 to The Gun. Service first class; food very good and venue superb. Majority of the group will return. No complaints from any of the group just high praise.

An amazing experience! We had a 40th party in the private dining room upstairs. Our waitress, Laura, was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, both in taste and presentation, and the staff throughout the booking were extremely professional. Would definately go back and eat in the restaurant.

I booked the Cabin Room for a private dinner to entertain guests visiting London for the first time.

Wonderful cosy room with open fires, candlelight and everything set up for us when we arrived (even though we were earlier than planned).

We had some allergies and dietary requirements for the guests in our party and these were handled well with inventive menu options.

The food was delicious, fresh and interesting - it helped limit the stereotype of British food being grey and tasteless!

A big thank you to Vanessa and the team for a great evening.

Thank you for everything you did to ensure the guys had a great night – the food was wonderful and the service was excellent. No doubt we will be booking with you again soon, and perhaps trying the River Room next time.

We recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon in The River Room at the Gun. The setting was fantastic with a great view overlooking the Thames. The service was attentive without being obtrusive. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced (we had a set menu) so although the drinks were a little more pricey, with the food the overall bill was great value for money. One of our group had a selection of food allergies and every care was taken to talk through her dishes with her to make sure they would be okay.

I highly recommend The Gun. We had a group of 10 and enjoyment and appreciation was shared by every single one of us.

I called The Gun to make a reservation for lunch for 15 people on a Saturday afternoon and from that moment on everything went perfectly. Without asking we were offered the River Room which not only had a lovely view of The Millennium Dome and the Thames, but allowed us to play our own music. The set menu was not only very reasonably priced but also offered something for everyone and was really tasty. The wine flowed continuously and we all had a wonderful time. One of the highlights for being the person organising the day was the level of friendly and professional service, from the first phone call, to reception when we arrived to paying the bill. A great experience that I would definitely want again.

We hired the cabin room for our wedding party last week and it was fantastic. Vanessa and her team were extremely helpful and professional with the service both on the day and with the planning leading up to the day.

The food was exceptional, everyone of our guests were impressed with the menu and some are planning to return as soon as they can.

All in all, a great day was had and we shall definitely be returning.

Friday, July 23, 2010 - A Grelha sits at the edge of the Thames, overlooking the water and the O2 centre in the distance. However, it is not technically a stand-alone restaurant in its own right, rather it is a make shift al fresco area of The Gun, which opens during sunny days and warm nights...I wasn't under any illusions, its got the sun, its got the cocktails, and its got the fresh seafood. One shouldn't expect much more than that, but I had expected a more exotic choice, no lobster, crab, oysters or steak on the menu. I'll give food a big fat zero (ok one and a half for the clams) but a seven for atmosphere.

Monday, March 16, 2009 - As it's Sunday, and I love a roast dinner, I go for Roast Sirloin of Beef...Mine is good, the potatoes are gorgeous and crispy, the beef is nicely cooked, definitely one of the better Sunday dinners I've had anywhere. There's some kind of problem with the offered Horseradish sauce, it doesn't seem to have any actual Horseradish in it!...I like it eye wateringly pungent, but this is soon put right by a passing waitress.
