The Gun is great! I think it must have one of the biggest terraces overlooking the river in London, we went to A Grehla the other day with friends we enjoyed a fantastic Spanish meal straight off the grill. Friendly, attentive service, quality food, great view!

The Gun has to be one of the best (if not the best) Sunday lunch pubs in the capital. I went again yesterday (2 weekends in a row) and the roast is superb, service friendly and professional and the venue ideal for a relaxed Sunday afternoon by the river. Many thanks all at The Gun, I'll be back next week!

It was my first time at the Gun last week and I was pleasantly surprised by this tucked away pub. The food was just delicious and service was great considering we live in London. I am going again to try their delicious Portuguese food in the adjacent A Grelha restaurant,

My sister and I journeyed out to Canary Wharf from central London this weekend as we’d heard so much about this place, and it didn’t disappoint! Shared a pint o’ prawns (great idea) and both had the duck which was delicious, and cooked so well! Fantastic atmosphere, really enjoyed ourselves, pints of pimms went down very well. Well worth the journey, and we’ll be returning again!!

A group of friends and I were really pleased with our experience at The Gun recently. We throughly enjoyed the menu, especially the Dorset crab and toast which was just divine! It is so fantastic that restaurants are trying to reintroduce the English cuisine and The Gun gets it just right.
We were also served by very friendly and attentive waitresses which is so hard to come by these days! I throroughly recommend The Gun to all who appreciated good quality fresh ingredients.

Had a meal at the Gun and found the experience mixed. Expensive to reach by cab from Canary Wharf despite the promise of a quick cab drive. Request for a riverside table had been ignored despite booking in good time and although the road side is OK its still just a noisy pub. Waitress serving wine was amateurish and given the cost of the wines, unacceptable. White wine served luke warm and the request for an ice bucket for the tepid replacement was greeted with incomprehension. Good food but at top price for weeny portions. Maybe fantastic if you get a river view on a sunny day but basically a pub trying to be a restaurant and charging above its weight.

I had dinner there a couple of days ago. I found the place to be quite pleasant, with nice atmosphere, good service and good food. The one thing that bothered me was that it is over priced, especially the wine. My partner ordered the smoked eel as first first course for £8. It was quite tasty, but for one square inch of eel it is rather expensive. For £18.50 I got a good steak, too bad I finished it after a few bites. A bowl of cabbage or carrots would set you back extra £4. Prices are high, portions are small. Our bottle of wine cost £38 - far from being the most expensive one. in the wine menu I saw a wine that I had bought in a shop for £10 or £11, in The Gun they charged £37, almost 4 times the shop price, that's a rip off.
It's not all complaints, it's actually a nice place, the food is good, and the service excellent, and I enjoyed my dinner there, but it is overrated, and over priced, not good value. If you're willing to pay, you will enjoy it.

Booked one of the Private rooms here (River room). A lovely room overlooking the Thames - and the O2. The organisation prior to arriving was very good and the staff were excellent at ensuring all 13 people in the party were well catered for.
The food was very good, and I would happily book again.

I booked the River Room in The Gun for my fiancé's birthday and would thoroughly recommend it as a venue for groups of 10-14 people.
The room is perfect for private dining - there is a great view of the river, enough space to properly relax and the room has a very historical feel (as does the pub generally) and contains some interesting artwork and even a telescope!
The food and service were also excellent and there was no minimum spend.
