We had our company Christmas dinner at the Gun. We were allocated the charming private Cabin Room - a panelled room with a collection of old tankards suspended from the ceiling.

The food was delicious and we were wonderfully looked after by Elly and the team. It was a real Christmas treat!

We chose The Gun for our work Christmas party and had a fantastic time. The food, venue and service were excellent and the private dining experience in The River Room, over-looking the O2, was a beautiful setting. I will definitely be recommending The Gun to family and friends and look forward to enjoying another meal there in the future.

We had our office Christmas lunch at The Gun in The River Room. The room is lovely and looks directly onto the Thames. I can honestly fault nothing. The booking process was easy and managed very professionally, excellent food & wine and great service. They even provided an ipod docking station so we could have some xmas tunes! Will definitely be going back next year.

I booked the Red Room and a quarter of the riverside terrace for a birthday party of 70 guests on a winter evening, the experience was unforgettable. Every guest received a complimentary glass of champagne served by the friendly staff, which made and instant impression on everyone attending. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to the large amount of guests. Canapés, that we had pre-ordered, were fresh and delicious and served to the guests literally on silver platters.

To round off the evening, I had ordered freshly baked cupcakes personally prepared by the chef. They were delightful, and left a lasting impression.

The combination of location, view, comfort, friendly staff and delicious food made for an incredible experience and I would unquestionably recommend The Gun to anyone, from a romantic dinner for 2 to a party of a 100 guests.

Wonderful ambience, fantastic food and really great, super attentive staff. We came here for a birthday lunch in the Cabin Room and were pleased to discover that all the great reviews this place has received are thoroughly well deserved! The view from the terrace is just stunning, so come with a camera to capture some of those moments.

We held my Mother in law's 80th Birthday Party at The Gun on 19th November.

The staff were wonderful from start to finish and could not do enough to help us.

We hired 2 rooms plus part of the terrace. The whole area looked great with lanterns and tea lights and fairy lights on the terrace - the blankets out there were very welcome too!

The food was fantastic. From the canapes to fish and chips in cones everything was well cooked and all the guests commented on how good the food was.

The drinks service was very good and the staff made sure everyone had a full glass all the time.

Would suggest going to the Gun also for dinner as we had eaten there before and the food and service is just as good everyday as well as for parties.

Had lunch there today. Very disappointing. Very poor service - matching the poor quality food. I realise that it is the Isle of Dogs East End but at West End prices come on!

The owners need to go further afield and understand the quality being offered elsewhere to help themselves improve their standards and quality. A good understanding and fluency in Polish would help the customer communicate with the waiters and waitresses.

The coffee was good - but that's all.

Friday, July 23, 2010 - A Grelha sits at the edge of the Thames, overlooking the water and the O2 centre in the distance. However, it is not technically a stand-alone restaurant in its own right, rather it is a make shift al fresco area of The Gun, which opens during sunny days and warm nights...I wasn't under any illusions, its got the sun, its got the cocktails, and its got the fresh seafood. One shouldn't expect much more than that, but I had expected a more exotic choice, no lobster, crab, oysters or steak on the menu. I'll give food a big fat zero (ok one and a half for the clams) but a seven for atmosphere.

Monday, March 16, 2009 - As it's Sunday, and I love a roast dinner, I go for Roast Sirloin of Beef...Mine is good, the potatoes are gorgeous and crispy, the beef is nicely cooked, definitely one of the better Sunday dinners I've had anywhere. There's some kind of problem with the offered Horseradish sauce, it doesn't seem to have any actual Horseradish in it!...I like it eye wateringly pungent, but this is soon put right by a passing waitress.
