Lagenda Malaysian Restaurant

Being of Malaysian origin, I was exicted to find a Malaysian restaurant highly commended by fellow Malaysians. Unfortunately, the excitment was short lived. In terms of atmosphere, service and quality of cooking, I can wholeheartedley say that the Lagenda is the worst restaurant I have ever been to anywhere in my entire life. I had prepared myself for (and looked forward to)tongue tingingly spicy food, Malaysian style, and instead found dishes which arrivd at the table lukewarm, and which were so tasteless I had to salt them (which is something I NEVER do in a restaurant). Service was hurried and sloppy in spite of the fact that the restaurant was mostly empty. The only good thing about the place was that it was fairly cheap. Definitely not recommended.

Being Malaysian and accustomed to the authenticity of malay cuisnes, I often frowned at "Malaysian cusines in the UK" This is not due to the expertise of the chefs but more for the ingredients that are essential to produce typical malay dishes. However, I was proved wrong when our Malaysian Club had our function at the Legenda Malaysian Restaurant at Holiday Villa. The malaysian buffet offered could not be more malaysian in smell, texture and taste. The Beef Rendang was truly exquisite. I am converted now and will not hesitate to recommend your restaurant to whoever who wishes to sample Malaysian cuisnes in the UK.

My wife and I have been to Malaysia quite a few times over the years and have been looking for a good Malaysian restaurant in London to dine at while we visit friends. Just by chance we read a few of the reviews on city-eating and like what people had written. On our visit to London last weekend we decided to try out the place. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff as soon as we entered the restaurant. My wife ordered the Nasi Lemak and I ordered the Nasi Goreng Kampung which to our surprise where the best Nasi Lemak and Nasi Goreng Kampung we had had in many years. We will certainly be going back to dine again, and to finish of a great evening we both had the Manja Delight desert (fried banana fritters with vanilla ice cream) which was delightful. We would highly recommend this restaurant to any one.

We were in Malaysia last year, sampled lots of Malaysian food & on returning, we tried various restaurants but none matched the authencity until we were recommended by friends to visit the Lagenda restaurant. To our delight, all the dishes we ordered were just sumptious! The nasi lemak, king prawn noodles with shredded chicken, vegetarian noodles was excellent. We would have liked to try more dishes but we could not eat anymore, so will have to leave that for another time which is a definite! At last we had found a restaurant that we will definitely return and also recommend our friends & relatives back here in West Sussex.

This is a Fantastic restaurant! Recommended to anyone who wishes to experince the varied Malaysian cuisine. Very laid back atmosphere and warm, friendly staff. Desert can be limited at times but interesting and delicious nonetheless.

This is a real Malaysian restaurant cooked by Malay chefs - as genuine as you can get!!

The Commonwealth Countries League Christmas Dinner was a great success thanks to your wonderful staff who were professional and alert to all situations. There were 75 of 'us'. The food was delicious and plentiful. The bar had an excellent selection at reasonable prices. We will return!

Lagenda has helped in making our Deepa Raya event a success. We had over 50 people attending the lunch party with most singing praises for the authenticity and quality of food in the buffet spread. Thank you and well done Lagenda!!
