I went to this Restaurant on Saturday and was refused tap water. I had to have a soft drink.

I noticed downstairs a Chinese family was served tap water.

Food and choice was excellent

Went to Mr Wu's as it was advertised as cheap and cheerful. Should have spent a few more quid. Food was medicre, service poor. It was only after we asked for the bill for our drinks that she mentioned there is a 10% service charge- for drinks! Also a 10% surcharge on food which considering it's a buffet and you serve yourself is ridiculous. Avoid.

We went to Mr Wu's in Shaftesbury Avenue and they refused to let us have glasses of tap water. They charged £1.50 for a glass of so-called mineral water, and wanted over £3.00 for a bottle. It left an unpleasant taste in our mouths!

Generally, I agree that Mr. Wu's, as a chain is atrocious - it typifies "Chinese Buffets", so on that count I guess one should cut it some slack as expectations aren't high.

However, I recommend considering going to the Shaftesbury Avenue branch - it charges a premium compared to the others (I think 50% more than the other branches), but thankfully the additional cost seems to bear fruit (£10 for buffet and tea).

Service is fairly non-existent except for drinks etc. but it's fairly attentive, which is all one hopes for in a buffet restaurant of this nature.

Food, thankfully, is fairly decent - steer clear of the chips, lemon chicken and all the things they thrown in especially for westerners, and instead look for the beef brisket, roast duck and char siu (honey roast pork) and other offerings - it's surprisingly good for buffet food, especially given the dubious quality of its sister chains.

After looking through China Town for a cheap buffet we came across Mr.Wu's. It was very busy and we had to be seated upstairs. This meant we had to travel down a flight of stairs for our food, then back up again to eat. The restaurant was far too cramped (literally centimetres away), drinks came flat, every meal there was far too spicy(and I enjoy spicy food), there weren't even knives at the table. The biggest complaint came when we found a hair in our food. After telling the waitress we received no complimentary drinks and not even an apology. After complaiing again to the head waiteress we got "I'm just staff...no manager in tonight". Guess you get what you pay for!

On sunday me and some mates went down to the Mr Wu buffet at china town.

We went in as the price looked cheap. We was very disapointed to the lack of choice of food to offer in the buffet. Well we all tucked in but all the food was VERY SALTY this might be because of processed stuff maybe. Also one waitress the name I won't mention had poor customer service. As when we asked for the bill she said there was no change. So what was we supposed to do?hmm then she went away and came back so we decided if we could all have sperate bils. She said this will be to confussing anyways appearently on sunday they don't have enough change. So we asked how come? She said if i give u change there won't be enough change for other custmor how strange. So thebn we said can we see the manager or have a cheaper rate as the food was not that high standed she said no justed Rudly just snatched all our £10 pound notes. Went away and came back and threw our change. So I reccomand u all not to visit
