ASK (Barnes)

Shambolic service. Been burnt there twice now. Tried to give them a second chance but again totally let down by inability of terrible staff to perform basic service duties so we walked out. DO NOT waste your precious time going to this pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Bathroom facilities were disgusting also.

Looking forward to a nice meal, hadn't been to this branch of ASK for a while, fairly empty when arrived around 5.30pm which I thought would not be a bad thing.

Ordered calamari and a side salad, and my partner ordered the special sea food with pasta.

Calamari arrived looking really sad, you could smell the old oil that it has been fried in and it looked quite over done, there was a pool of oil in the small bowl. The salad did not look freshly made as the lettice looked wiltered and the cucmber dry. very disappointed, partners meal was average, lacked flavour. Quite expensive £41. for a stater and meal and soft drinks. Would not recommend. Did mention all to staff whom seem not to bother how we felt.

As with toilet facities very unclean, dirty hand prints etc leading to both toilets, smell of wee as you entered the ladies and I believe the same for the mens.

Come on ASK sort things out not a great impression.

Total rubbish. Terrible service. waited 3/4 hour to be served a pizza whilst other tables who arrived after us had starters and mains already. Pizzas were good but salad arrived without all the ingredients listed. Staff just stand behind bar and do not come to you unless you try and get their attention.

I have been to this restaurant several times now with my partner, and the food quality can be ‘hit & miss’ at times.

I had the Mushroom Al Forno as my starter, and then the Meat Calzone Pizza as my main. I found the food that day delicious and rich in flavours, as you would expect from any ASK restaurant. You do have great view overlooking Barnes Pond, which is lovely on a hot summers day.

The bill came up to £40 for 2 people, which included the starters, mains and a bottle of wine. Not bad! Overall I, I would go back again as I enjoyed my time there.
