caffe uno was quite good although we had to wait ages. The pizza is very nice and the waffles with fruit and ice cream are too. Don't think we'll be going back soon. Not a good atmosphere and not very italian.

Currently closed for renovation, which may help. This chain is not bad compared to other standardised Italians, but then again why would anyone use this branch when there are two perfectly decent family-run Italian restaurants just a few metres along Goodge Street? Historical note: the building used to be Catesby's in the days when Tottenham Court Road was furniture shops end-to-end; this was THE place to go for linoleum.

My girlfriend and I were very disappointed by our experience at Caffe Uno. We are both italians and we found the food of a very poor quality, even because the pasta we ordered came just 2 minutes after our order. It tasted like it was all well prepared since a long time and had only to be warmed in a microwave oven. The restaurant lacked also of any atmosphere, no music, everything looked very far from being really italian. This was our second visit at Caffe Uno, in both cases we were very disappointed. Very expensive for what you get.

A friend & I ate at Caffe Uno on Tuesday 28th feb at lunchtime. The service was slow, the head waiter stuck up & the food very poor. I would never eat there again.

Appalling!

OK. We ordered our wine. Thats fine, we got that so then we ordered food. We were waiting for over half an hour thinking it was taking a while when our waiter came up to us again and said he had forgotten our order so we had to order everything again and wait some more for the food to come.

When it did come my pizza was ok, nothing special but they had burnt my friends salmon and she couldn't eat it. We asked for some money of the bill so they gave us a £5 reduction which we managed to raise to getting the salmon for free (which hardly compensates you for waiting over 45 minutes for the food and then one person having to sit and watch the other eat).

It hardly matters but the place has no atmosphere either!

Excellent food - with fast and friendly service. Some excellent specials which seem to change regularly.

Good central location if you're around the West End.

Ate there yesterday (10/6/05), it was early evening, so was fairly quiet, but food and service were both good. Would certainly go back if in the area and recommend to others.
