Very poor. If this is a Michelin star restaurant it was the worst I've ever been to. My wife's crab starter was not even worth the £7 supplement charged for it and her main course was cold.
The decor is dated and the place feels a little shabby.
It's one saving grace is very good service, unobtrusive but there was always someone on hand. It's a pity the excellent staff are let down by the very poor food.

Anniversary dinner for two and I can't say Im at all disappointed.
Great atmosphere for a damp Sunday evening, my girlfriend and I went for the 4 course menu which was lovely.
Tuna carpaccio was light and smooth, the pheasant ravioli meaty and flavoursome and the venison perfectly cooked.
The wine list is extensive and of good range of both price and quality, the deserts a pleasant end to an evening. Best thing about the place is its atmosphere; warm, friendly and yet still intimate for that romantic occasion.
We will be going back.

Sunday lunch for 2 - 18/11/07.
I'm a big Italian fan but I'm not sure I get this restaurant.
Quality of ingredients is undoubtedly excellent, quality of cooking is not. Starter of Venison Carpaccio was devoid of any flavour, pasta course of Pheasant Ravioli was good but miniscule & underseasoned, main of Suckling Pig was overcooked & dry. Dessert of cherry & almond cake was again overcooked & dry.
Service was good & of the quality expected in this level of restaurant.
I was expecting fantastic flavours expertly executed, maybe the chef has Sunday lunch off!

What a joke. Went for dinner there last night - none of our party was particularly hungry and only ordered one course (pasta) each. I checked if this was OK as the menu gave a price for two or three courses. The waiter tried to push us into starters saying we would otherwise have to wait a long time for our pasta. As a result it arrived promptly - entree size pasta - two with a simple tomato sauce, for which we were charged £22.50 a head.

I know that I have a reviewed in the past BUT now is really the time to check out this Belgravia Italian if you have never had the pleasure for 2 reasons:
First - they have the Fiorentina steak that is a t-bone cut where the filet is the larger side and the strip is the smaller side. UNREAL. As someone mentioned below, it really is the best steak in the world. You can never find the cut on your own and its even very rare for obvious reasons in Italy. Not worth missing.
AND
Second - we are coming into white truffle season!!!!!!! YAY!
Best restaurant in London hands-down in London.

Fabulous meal. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Excellent service and food was superb. We went for the Fiorentina T-bone steak for two which was amazing. The best steak I've ever eaten.

I had one of the best dinners of my 25 year old life at Zafferano on the 5th of May.
Coming all the way from Australia, I had reservations about whether I would have a knock-out meal in london. Zafferano exceeded all my expectations.
We started with a martini at the bar followed by beef carpaccio which was mouthwatering on a bed of rocket & covered in shavings of parmasean. Next was Linguini with lobster & scampi whilst my partner chose the duck. Neither of us were disappointed. Desert was a chocolate tart and tiramisu.
The atmosphere & ambience made for a romantic evening, the service was impeccible, our waiter was attentive & chatty, but also knew when it was time to bring out our next course. We left our wine choice to him & we weren't disappointed with our 50 pound bottle of red.
Whilst a meal like this isn't what the average Australian can afford, I can say that dinner at Zafferano 'made' my stay in London. I can't wait to return!
