Zafferano

while I was surfing in london eating, looking for a great Italian restaurant I got into Zafferano and some of the reviews were disappointing so I decided to go and eat there to taste it.

I went last Tuesday night at around 8.30pm, two nice ladies welcome me and my friend to go to the bar as the table was to be ready soon.

At the bar, it was offered pieces of Reggiano cheeses and some slices of Salame and fresh bread. Atmosphere and ambience were great as well as the staff which explained the plate with lots of details.

I had pappardelle with zafferano with lard and a delicious halibut with small roasted potatoes and the small artichokes well cleaned and very tasteful.

I just had a glass of Red wine, light and fruity from Piedmont area, I enjoyed a lot with my pappardelle and as well with the fish.

Meal was superb, the staff was excellent, professional and efficient. This is a great italian restaurant where you have simple food, great atmosphere and good value for money.

I highly recommend zafferano.

Great place. The good looking service was great and the wine list has a great choice of super tuscan (not so cheap).

use to be excellent years ago, service is so poor now, the food has certainly gone down hill and the attitude of the staff is terrible.......so overpriced now, wouldn't go back...remember it in the good old days :(

Who writes these reviews, somebody on the take?! Zafferano is the worst food and service experience in years!

I went there once and thought it was a mistake, went there second time and hoped that the error would be corrected, but no!!! Was invited for a birthday of a friend! I almost cried when I received the invitation out of pure pity for him having spent money on that place. What ever you do, dont go there!!! this is off course only my honest opinion.

An absolutely fabulous restarant.

Impeccable service, fantastic, faultless food and a wonderful wine list with polite, friendly sommellier who will recommend something perfect for any occasion.

Worth every penny!

We both enjoyed a very special meal at this intimate Itlaian restaurant in the heart of Knightbridge.The table service was professional and prompt.

I had a light cured tuna with orange and fennel which was paper thin and refreshing...followed by the best mozerella I've ever tasted.This is a must try dish.We shared the middle pasta course...a wonderful flat spaghetti with lobster and fresh tomato.The meal concluded with hazlenut cream and espresso coffee/probably too late in the evening for this but it was still good.

The only slight problem was the frosty reception we received...this should 99% all of the time...when a restaurant has a seperate reception point...a warm greeting with a smile would have made all the difference...regardless of how busy it is.

I would still return as the food and atmosphere was very good!

Great food, great service and a nice reasonable price. The endive salad is fresh, crunchy and sweet and the pheasant ravioli was delicate yet tasty, perfectly balanced. And for my main...boring choice but it never fails me, the seared tuna.

Last night wasn't my first time - and it won't be my last. Zafferano is consistently good which is why it is a great choice to entertain or invite - you know your guests won't be disappointed - my children (ages 34 & 31!) also love the 'trendy' atmosphere.

I cannot understand the poor reviews below. I took my girlfrind for her birthday Nov 08.

The service was excellent and the food very good albeit expensive but I would say worth it.
