We went to the Golden Dragon following the Motor Show - 4 guys and I have to say had a really good meal. Whilst we were asked to wait for a table we went locally for a drink and returned on time to a waiting table. Attentive staff very nice and not at all like the experiences of some below. You take as you find. My only complaint was the size of the bill at circa £175.00 which I think was a tad expensive. perhaps the portion sizes could be reduced or more advise given not to over order.
Terrific company, great meal, good staff, all together a very pleasant evening and a great finish to a thoroughly memorable day!

We went to this restaurant on a visit to London, we are going back soon. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. My daughter who is 15 cant wait to go back. Very Clean and nice atmosphere.
Staff couldnt be more helpful and we went when it was busy and they still took the time to come and check if everything was ok.
We found the prices reasonable and would recommend this to others.

A large group of us went to this restaurant in Soho last night, and it will certainly be my first and last visit.
The service was poor, the food was overpriced - with some of it arriving cold - and half-way through our meal the whole restaurant was plunged into darkness after a power-cut that affected the entire top floor.
There was no help or advice from staff about what to do - instead, we sat in the pitch black for about 20 minutes before being given two tiny candles. The restaurant was closed to new customers, but they blithely expected us to continue our meal in conditions that only a mole would be happy with.
Finally, when it came to paying the bill, I requested - quite reasonably, I thought - a discount for the disruption. I had to go through three staff members before the manager grudgingly gave us 10% off a £270 bill, after 15 minutes of discussion. When I asked for a bigger discount, he shouted at me '10% - Do you speak English?' and stormed off!
Overall, it was a night I will never forget - but for all the wrong reasons!

went to golden dragon tonight and found the food incredibly boring and greasy!! I'll never go back to that restaurant!
We ordered pork dumplings and the fried garlic chicken: first one tasted like sainsburys food could taste and the seconde one like like crisps flavour bacon!!
Then we had some noodles (because the rest of the dishes were so expensive!!) and it turned out to be so greasy that we could not finish the dishes at all!!!
The service was really bad: always trying to push you to buy more drinks
I would advice to try more the Japanese restaurants in brewer street: much more interesting

Went for dim sum on Saturday, February 23rd and had a really bad meal. Deep fried squid wasgreasy & tough, beef balls tasteless, the noodles fried in stale oil and with a very unpleasant after taste. Only the two steamed sea food dim sum were good! We sent back the crispy duck as it was totally dried up and tough, and it was deducted from the bill with no fuss.
It's a shame as I had good dim sum here on a week day lunch less than 2 weeks ago, but consistency is a real issue and we won't be going back.

Three of us went in for an afternoon meal, some dish are ok other are rubbish. Pricing, some are ok other like the crisp pork, did not asked the price because I love crisp pork so I had order a portion(may be I should), served up less then 12 pieces for about £14-16 ( daylight robbery).
Service is lousy, in times make you feel like you in the auction house ready for a bid, you have to raised your hand most of the time to get the attention. In fact the only attention I got was when you near finish your meals and they want to relay the table as quickly as possible for next customers ie they want you out.
All & all the cost for our afternoon came to over £51.00+

I went to the GD in Chinatown for a new year's eve meal with my family (7 of us). The food and service were both EXCELLENT! we are going back next month for my parents' wedding anniversary. The honey roast pork and bbq duck were the best of the bunch we ordered, but everything was tasty. They were absolutely packed with long queues of people waiting to be seated, but the staff were always polite, didn't rush us and we stayed for 2 and a half hours. Only one complaint is they have next to no deserts - only a fruit platter and lychees. Price was reaosnable, £125 for seven of us, with two bottles of wine plus soft drinks.
I'd definitely recommend it. I have eaten at the London Chinatown and some other restaraunts also nearby and this was by far the best for food, price and service.

Went there on a saturday night and clientelle was what you'd expect on a sat night in soho, in great numbers. Service was not great, food ok. 5 people - bill came to £91 incl. a few beers and some martinis. Peking duck was very nice and quite big (ended up leaving some, which NEVER happened before). Chicken & sweetcorn soup rather bland and unappealing, but hot & sour nice. Shredded beef and sweet & sour chicken, not unpredictable choices, were also nice, made with proper chicken. Would go back in, but wouldn't make a special effort to do so.

Went here in a party of 7 to celebrate my dad's 50th birthday. I asked in advance if I could bring a cake that afternoon for them to present after the meal and the staff could not have been more helpful.
The restaurant was very busy but the staff were very polite and helpful and the food was excellent. I also thought it was very good value for money.
This is the nicest restaurant I have ever been to in china town and I have found others to be very overated with often very rude staff.
I would definitely go back here and reccomend it to to others.
