Golden Dragon

Dim sum in Golden Dragon is very good, but dinner here is less impressive. Barbequed pork was a little bland, but the ginger chinese broccoli was nice. Waiters are not proactive but if you call for them, they'll get you what you want.

We went to the Golden Dragon for a late lunch. It was virtually full, with just about every face being Chinese. We were shown to a table immediately we arrived.

There was a busy air, with a continual background of noise which was not so loud as to interfere with conversation. Not at all unpleasant.

The staff were not overly friendly, although one of the waiters did crack a joke with us. But neither were they overly rude. They were simply neutral and efficient.

The food was well-prepared and presented. It looked good and tasted good.

An enjoyable experience, and good value for money. Do watch the bill, though: as others have commented, it's in Chinese and the service charge is included but without being described as that; just an anonymous figure.

I went there last week and thought this restraunt was absolutely fabulous! It was very busy yet they seemed to find me a seat quickly withougt those long waits.

Went there last night after the Theater and had a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

This was probably my worst restaurant experience ever. The wait was very long, the staff were completely indifferent and just dumped the food on the table. At the end we were given a bill entirely in Chinese. We were so disatisfied by the whole experience that we decided not to pay the service charge - the manager came and argued with us about it for 5 min!

Luckily the food was, however, fairly good.

I have been there with two other people a couple of days ago. We ordered a roasted duck, which came out really smelly like it was old or something, it was full of grease and skin and looked non-eatable. When we complained about it and asked to change, the manager told us that they sold many of them today, and if we think that something is wrong with the duck we can take it to check. They refused to switch the dish and actually spoke very rudely to us. I have been to a lot of restaurants in different countries, but this was worse service ever. The rest of the food was not tasty either: the beef was not chewable, vegetables were too spicy. The rice was good, however. The prices are not cheap at all there, and after the awful service, they lost me and my friends as customers.

I attended the Golden Dragon yesterday with my Grand Daughter for the first time.

Plan of attack. Stand in Gerrard Street and study which restaurant the Chinese were using, hence the Golden Dragon.

We waited fifteen minutes for a table as I am unable to make stairs and needed ground floor table.

The staff were superb. The food was the best Chinese food we had ever tasted, and we hit many Chinese establishments in our travels.

I do not have any doubt that the venue gets my five-star rating in all areas.

Any restaurant will have negative results as you can't please everyone all the time, and some customers are professional moaners and complainers, no matter what in the hope they get a discount or free meal!

Don't misunderstand me as I am the first to complain to any failings, however I offer a balanced view from a first time customer. Well done Golden Dragon.

Service was superb, food excellent, price very reasonable and fair.

Extremely disappointed and upset with how things were dealt with.

We had a table booked for Saturday evening knowing it would be busy. I had rang ahead to warn the restaraunt I have a wheat allergy but could not be understood!! I should have cancelled our covers but didn't want to make a fuss as my mother in law had arranged the meal for the 10 of us visiting the City.

In the front of the menu it states to let your waiter know of any allergies which I did and also asked his advice as to what was nice and plain and without wheat, he didn't understand what I was saying, went away then returned and said that chicken skewers would be ok so I ordered those with some seaweed and boiled rice to be on the safe side (as I am still getting used to this myself as only newly diagnosed) Our meals came and the skewers were coated in batter!!!!!!!!

Now the whole table, some of whom I had never met before know I have an allergy and ended being the topic of conversation for the evening!!

This was the first time I ordered food here. From the beginning it was the worst. I had a lady that I couldn't understand and who couldn't understand me. Then would yell numbers back at me. I guess that was her way of telling what was going on. Then the delivery man who was so rude was yelling at me because I missed a call from him. Needless to say I never got the food to taste and was cursed at for not taking the food. So by far I don't recommend this place to anyone.
