Humaira

Me and a friend arrived late and recieved a warm welcome. The service was good but the food was the worst indian i have ever eaten and i mean that.Totally bland and tasteless.My friend, whose meal was poor but not as bad as mine had to dish some onto my plate just to get some flavour. The naan bread was the smallest,most tasteless ive ever had too. ALL i remember thinking was......even a packet of frozen curry from Iceland for a quid has more taste than this!!I was really disappointed but would of been more so if i had been the one paying. Got totally ripped off as we had arrived so close to closing time and served complete rubbish. It got me so mad in the following days i made my own!! and stockpiled the freezer/ what a contrast! Seriously the worst Indian meal i have ever had.Shame as the staff seemed really nice, but i guess maybe the service has to be better than expected if they are serving rubbish like what we got that night! It was my friend's birthday as well.Not a meal to remember,well not for the right reasons.

I rather consider myself a bit of a stickler when it comes to my favourite food ( curries) but was really impressed with the "Humaira Indian restaurant" just a short walk from kings X station. We went last night before our train journey back up to Durham, found the place purely by accident, & decided to give it a try. My wife really doesn't like Indian food generally, but after selecting for the 1st-time a Byriani She was converted! I had a standard Madras & have to say we were both well impressed with the quality of the food, Piping-hot, plenty of it & as authentic a curry as Iv'e had outside of Bradford!! The service was exceptional, Good ambience, and didn't cost a fortune! Had three courses & two rounds of drinks, then coffee & cream, ( We paid much more for "Fish & Chips" in a "Trendy" Canteen near Westminster the night before.

Couldn't fault the whole experience! We both came out extolling the qualities of the restaurant, it's food & it's staff! If you get the chance? Give it a go! We certainly will next time we are in London, no matter where we are staying!

Well that review sounds like a jealous local restaurant owner. Because I am a regular at Humaira I've been going there past five years I work at the building opposite the restaurant. The restaurant had been serving great food over the years and and still maintaing the standard. I always enjoyed the service me and my friends go twice a week we never had any problem. Perhaps we should all respect each others businesses and leave something good to write or don't write at all. I think the new staff are doing a great job I wouldn't want them to be criticised for no reason.great work guys well done to you all.

I went to this restaurant to dine alone back in November 2011 and the experience was awful! Although I had a reservation, I was ignored for a while at the door. This is probably because I wasn’t bringing enough business for the restaurant. After about 15 minutes, I was seated at single table located in a congested area. The restaurant in general was very congested and poorly laid out. The servers kept bumping into my table. The service to me was really slow even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy on a Thursday night and there were three severs plus a manager running the show. After waiting for several minutes and giving looks, this heavy man (could be the manager or owner) came to my table with an attitude and tried to force an order out of me in a rush. At this point, I asked to be served by another server and really got upset at my request and said: “well, I wasn’t going to serve you anyway…” Then, a different server took over but the quality of service remained the same – slow and ignorant! Finally, the food came after a long time and wasn’t even that great. I somehow managed to have my dinner and got myself out that awful place called Humaira Restaurant!!!

I have been going to this restaurant for a few years now as is very handy for Kings Cross station. They have recently had a change of management i believe and although the service was pretty good prior to this change, since the change you can really see the difference. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and really added to the atmosphere.

I think they must have also changed their chef because the curry i had the other night was really superb, in fact probably the best curry i have ever eaten in London.

I had prawn puri to start (fantastic) and followd with mushroom rice and Chicken Tikka Rogon, which was also stunning. I am extremely fussy when it comes to curry but this was really excellent and i would give the whole thing 10/10

I've been going to the Humaira for around ten years with friends and colleagues and have never been disappointed. In fact, with a recent change of management it's got even better! The menu has grown, the food is delicious and the service is friendly and efficient, but unobtrusive.

There are no pretentions of being a "designer" Indian restaurant. It is a good honest eatery with appropriate music in the background and subdued lighting. If you want a value for money evening out with friends, then the Humaira's the place to go. It's within easy reach of Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross stations and benefits from the Skinners Arms right next door. However, I wish they still did draught Kingfisher! All in all very highly recommended.
