Pizza Express (Southampton Row)

I met a friend here that i have not seen in years. It was so nice to be able to chat to each other without constant interuption. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Such a change from the likes of pizza hit - it is like a proper resturant rather than a fat food place. I am not from london and will definatly be eating in a local pizza express from now on.

When I am visiting London I stay at the Bedford Hotel, Southampton Row, check in and make a bee line for Pizza Express just across the road. It`s a home from home where I know I can be guaranteed an excellent meal friendly service in a clean and welcoming environment. There`s always a great atmosphere and its busy busy busy. Sometimes I sit at the window and watch the whole world going by (entertained on one occasion by a drunken guy in a cardboard box on the pavement - I`ll not say what he eventually did but it was a good laugh!!) and sometimes I sit inside and read the paper. Last week one of the waiters moved my table under the light without me having to ask - how`s that for service? My favourite pizza is Soho, the rocket and the parmesan shavings are fab combined with the gooey tomato and oliveness. A big glass of Chianti does the trick too but hey I even love the bottled water!!!!
