Truckles of Pied Bull Yard

I have visited this establishment a number of times over the last 18 months for an evening meal and not been disappointed yet. The food was delicious and service second to none - friendly and caring!
I have also been with friends to their quiz nights on the last Monday of each month The price of entry includes 'nibbles' which are more than enough to put off any hunger pangs. There is also an 'at-table' drinks service for participants. It's just beating that British Museum team that is difficult!
Well worth a visit tucked away in a yard just metres from the British Museum.

We found this little place by surprise at lunchtime on the 20th July, trying to get out of the heatwave after having visiting the British Museum.(We live in the Canaries but London at 35 degrees is very hard to handle) Coincidentally it was my birthday. It was perfect. The paté we had was excellent, the cheeseboard too and my son polished off 18 of the 20 Cumberland cocktail sausages on his own! He treated us both to a very recommendable glass of special celebration champagne. The guy who served us could have been a shade more friendly -but it did not spoil the occasion. It is definitely on my list of places to return to when revisiting London. A perfect place for my unexpected birthday lunch!

A friend took me here for a birthday lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed it - food was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed, it wasn't too busy... I particularly enjoyed the location, hidden in the depths of Bloomsbury.
