Hare and tortoise is the best japanese restaurant I have ever been to! I first started going to the restaurant about 5-6 years ago, when I used to be much more picky with my food. However, since trying the dishes there I have learnt to expand my area of taste. The service is extremely quick and the waitresses are very nice. Each dish comes nicely presented, hot and absolutely delicious!

Every other restaurant that has come before Hare and Tortoise has quickly gone out of business, yet, since Japanese cuisine is extremely popular this restaurant has stood for a good period of time and continues to get crowded with people every single day.

I continue to wish that Hare and Tortoise would provide a cook-book for the sauces are just mouth-watering and flavorful.

I like the atmosphere better than other restaurants for it has large windows, which keep the place nice and bright. Instead of, 2 average sized windows for the entire place.

Pig Pig's Corner

Tuesday, March 23, 2010 - Dragon roll - not bad (can't really go wrong with a fried prawn in the middle), but the rice was a bit disappointing and broke apart quite easily. Tasty nonetheless...Curry laksa - pure awesomeness. Better than most stalls in Malaysia, this slightly spicy but very creamy soup is very well flavoured...While the quality isn't the highest around, the quantity of the food and general taste is well worth the price. It's also pretty damn popular and the Kensington branch we visited had quite a large queue.

Friday, September 18, 2009 - This expanding chain of cafe style restaurants feature Japanese inspired bentos in addition to the odd flash of fusion, such as Malaysian chicken curry and Char Siew pork. The Una-don, in particular is great value at 8.50. Portions are just appropriate and it has all the hallmarks of the popular dish: Slithery texture that disintegrates in your mouth with a tarty thick terikiyaki holding things together. The Japanese style char siew don is equally well done, and even cheaper at 5.50, but do try and avoid the overly dry sushi.
