Well, I was there the last week of October and had a fantastic experience, so I'm sorry the previous reviewer had such a bad time. We more or less stumbled onto the restaurant to get out of the rain, didn't even realize it was vegetarian until we sat down to eat. The mock duck was especially good, and the 'prawns' were lovely. The ginger tea was superb and took the edge off of the cool London evening. The service was fantastic-I've had less attention at full service! Excellent value for the money.

to be honest, until I went to JOI, I didn't actually realise it was possible to have a 'bad' chinese meal. Not that I think all chinese food is good - but even the worst generally tastes alright-ish....

I've been here four times, with different people. The service is good and so is the food. The steamed dumplings are excellent. The manager is very nice and always comes over to ask if everything's fine. I wish I'd remembered to tell her then that I would love to see at least one tofu dish in the whole buffet, instead of all mock meats. Otherwise, everything's great.

WE TRIED THIS RESTAURANT AFTER CONSULTING THIS WEBSITE AND WERE REALLY PLEASED. THE FOOD IS GOOD AND THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL WITHOUT BEING TOO PUSHY. ALSO EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY (ONLY £6 FOR EVENING BUFFET) IN WHAT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE CITY. WILL BE GOING BACK !

Joi Buffet offers a very good vegan buffet in a fairly spacious surrounding, which is fairly unusual for a buffet place as I've often found them to be cramped. The luck (yes, not duck!) pancakes are really good, and there was a good variety of other things to try too, including spring rolls, sesame toasts, a few different types of curries, rice and noodles.
The thing that impressed me the most was the service - all the staff were so pleasant and looked after us extremely well. Despite it being a help-yourself buffet, they were keen to point out various dishes and encourage us to try new things. The manager also asked us what we thought of the food - it's most definitely pleasing to be asked for feedback.
