My girlfriend has worked in the Euston area for years and has been going to the Great Nepalese Restaurant for almost as long. She did say that the quality of the food dipped a few years back but has now returned to its best. She has also visited Nepal treking and finds the small number of traditional Nepalese dishes compares favourably with that cooked in the mother country. Remember that a large selection doesnt always mean that quality will be good.

I have been only 6 times and have been disappointed only the one time which was during the dip mentioned previously.

Give it a try it isn't as bad as Kat makes out. Popodums, 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 veg side dishes, 1 rice, 1 naan, 3 bottles of Cobra + tip = £50. Good value.

Went here with my girlfriend on my birthday. If you are a fan of 'Minder' or 'The Sweeney', then this could be the place for you as the decor and even the diners look to have come straight from that era!

The (good) food was not as diverse as I had hoped- I am not an expert on Nepalese cuisine but( I googled afterwards ) would say the cuisine at Great Nepalese is a little too close to a regular Indian curryhouse. They need more signature Nepalese dishes on the menu.

The service is first rate, attentive, genuine.

I have eaten at the Great Nepalese Restaurant two or three times a year for thirty years.

Indeed when I first started going it was located in a different place and when it relocated they took us with them!

My friends and I always receive excellent service, the food is always delicious and the price, while not the lowest, is most acceptable.

I recommend the Great Nepalese unreservedly.

We went there today, encouraged by great review. Ordered only special Nepalese dishes, to experience the different cuisine.

And – huge disappointment: it was just like any VERY ORDINARY Indian food. What’s more it wasn’t fresh or tasty.

I’m amazed by the previous reviews. But maybe I’m spoilt by our local Indian restaurant that serves food cooked with fresh ingredients...

We will not be coming back for sure.

I'm really only writing this review to keep up the score of the other reviews. This place is great! Some of the decor is starting to date but who cares when the food is this good?

This is the sort of food that you want to take slowly, to make it last longer. But you can't, because it's so tasty. You end up cramming it in your mouth like you've never eaten before.

The service, we felt, was spot on. It was non-intrusive and staff appeared at all the right moments.

Then the bill arrived. Only £50 all in. That was for two people ordering two starters, two rice, three main dishes, two drinks and two desserts, all of which was at a very high standard. Beat that.

Very friendly little place. Had a birthday dinner there and they were most accomodating. Extensive menu, food was tasty and subtly different from Indian food. Took a while to arrive, but that was probably due to the largeness of the crowd.

My first visit to this restaurant, but certainly not my last. The atmosphere is friendly, as is the service, although the latter is not the fastest! The food was very good and reasonably priced. A very pleasant evening.

I recently paid another visit to this restaurant and it was even better than last time.

Therefore I am increasing my score to reflect an even better impression. Excellent food that was delicious and reasonably priced.

I am not a regular restaurant-goer nor do i pretend to know a lot about food. What I can say is this: The Greedy Buddha exceeded all expectations I had of it. The food was absolutely brilliant, especially the 'Momo' (little lamb-filled dumplings) and the Butter Chicken. Price-wise, I think it's competitive for the area and well worth paying. My only problem: perhaps the lights were a little dim?!
