Never, I repeat NEVER, set foot in this place. Read the reviews for proof of why you should NEVER go here. The manager is the rudest person you will ever come across in a customer facing establishment. The review saying she's nice is most likely her. I experienced her shouting at me, I was shocked and disgusted - I don't know how this place manages to stay open.

The food and drinks are not worth the grief - they're not that good anyway.

I have been going to Tulepo Honey since it opened, some years ago. Until last night I would have suggested it as a place to go in Camden. But last night was an experience I shan't ever be repeating.

I went with two friends for a post dinner chat. It seemed, as its a quiet cafe in the day, that it would be a place to have a drink and chat. The decor is great, and the candles on the tables give it real charm.

Their cocktails were bad, a cosmopolitan and daquiri, and they tasted the same, as each other, and there was no crushed ice in the daquiri. The wine was exceedingly bad quality (I had a terrible hangover after 3 small glasses) but expensive.

There were 10 people in the whole cafe, there was no one dancing, just people trying to chat. So I politely asked the barman if he could turn down the music a little. "No, the sound system is upstairs" This seemed very strange, but OK. But whilst the music couldn't go down, it could go up! As the music then got so loud the speakers were distorting we moved to the bar area, where we could hear each other- the music was a little quieter in there. To give you an idea of the volume, I was with two Canadians who can easily normally be heard, they both have loud voices, they were having to shout, and I still couldn't hear them. We weren't in a nightclub, but a cafe.

Then to our surprise, the barman (the same one who told us we couldn't have the music lower) ran over to the stereo and turned down a track because he couldn't hear himself. So, a liar, and didn't care if he was found out. So, when the volume went up again I asked again, (we were by then the biggest group in the bar) he said no, (but this time didn't say that the stereo was upstairs) so I asked if the manager were there. So the owner comes over and shouts and screams at me! "I had no right to ask for the music to be turned down; who did I think I was; it was her bar; she got to choose how loud the music was; she didn't care what we wanted, she just wanted it to a be a funky place." The diatribe went on. Screaming. Not finding a solution, not treating me like a human being, but backing up her lying barman and screaming.

Its a shame. It could be a fabulous venue for people who do want to talk into the night, as it suggests by its decor and menu. They have so many rooms they could have a quieter room and a louder room to accomodate the different desires of customers. But wait, she doesn't care about her customers, just herself. I would normally never write something like this, but this is a person that does not deserve to succeed in the service industry. Spend your money somewhere else in Camden. Anywhere else, hell, go across the road to Starbucks.

Incredible cocktail bar. I would have to agree with the previous comment. Cocktails are the best choice up there; few weeks ago I went with my friend for a little while but spent the whole evening. The cocktails are amazing. I've been to other bars but this place has different taste. I should admit that the young bar man has the magical hand and knowledge about the drinks. I strongly recommend this place.

After a long time i went to this place twice this week. Just because of the cocktails. New massive cocktails list is just amazing. If anyone likes to have cocktails I definitely recommend you to go and check. If you like to have something different speak to the barman, he will make day or evening in a bit. At the moment i think the environment is much better than before. Hope you will enjoy.

Lovely food and lovely staff. Manager was very pleasant as always. I can't wait to go back and try some more cakes and food.

I regularly go to this restaurant and used to find it really lovely - nice staff and yummy food. HOWEVER, we went there today and was scared to death by the rude lady serving - i have a horrible feeling she was even the manager! Extremely rude to staff and customers, very intimidating and just overall unpleasant lady. thought i might have seen her on a bad day but am shocked to read on other reviews that she is always like this?! she was stressed because she was understaffed - i felt like saying if people knew the service getting coming in here today then she wouldn't have to worry about lots of customers because they wouldn't even want to set foot in the door!

really disappointing as the other staff are always really lovely and she just brings the whole place down with her rude and inexcusable behaviour.

if you can figure out when to go when she's not there, then i would recommend the place, but not ever when she is working.

Where do I start? Myself and my colleagues use Tupelo Honey at least twice a week, and have done so for a few months. But never again. The food is good and staff nice and friendly, but its the owner that lets the whole place down with a incredible bang! Recently whilst there, and much to our amazment, we heard a loud clumping down the stairs, only to be greeted with a seething terrifying looking women, who looked like she was intent on doing someone harm. More bizarrely, she was wearing a black bag around her, how delightful! She proceeded to rip one of her poor unfortunate staff to shreads, infront of everyone. How dare she. You wouldn't speak to a dog like that. Where does she get off. We were embarrassed for the poor guy. She then had a go at one of the customers for using his laptop in the dining room, and asked him to pay up and leave. One hell of a rude women. Incredible, that will do wonders for business. And for that reason I would never set foot in the place ever again.
