Viet-anh Cafe

I was introduced to the Viet-anh Cafe by a friend - what a treat. ! It has become a regular and firm favourite. Freshly cooked, authentic dishes and with wonderful clear flavours that tease the taste-buds and satisfy the appetite. The welcoming and charming staff in this spotlessly clean 'cafe' are always happy to accommodate special requests and the enticing food not only arrives promptly and is delicious, it also looks wonderful. Simply the vest Vietnam food in North West London. Well priced and great value for money - a don't miss experience to be repeated as often as possible.

I have been frequenting this fabulous restaurant for years with a large group of friends. At various different points of the week you will find me there with one friend or another enjoying large tasty bowls of soup and fresh piping hot plates of chilli tofu and green vegetables. The service is consistently fast and friendly and the place is spotless.
In fact I feel sorry for the service staff whenever they come to my table, as always alter the menu and invariably so do all of those that I dine with. And yet it always turns up as I ask for it, thanks to the diligence of the waiting staff carefully noting down our order.
In the two months I have introduced 3 people to the wonders of Viet Ahn and they in turn have become frequent visitors and have introduced their own friends. And who wouldn't? The flavors are fresh the colors are bright the price is right...who can complain.
After seven years there are some things in Camden that haven't changed - thankfully Viet Ahn is one of them.

After a stressful day of work, i decided to hop into an authentic Vietnamese restaurant (first time), and treat myself with some delicious meals, along with some friends.
And so the adventure of a joyful night began. The staff was friendly and outstandingly informative. The starter Chili Squid came first. Its crispy surface accompanied with some salad, just hit the spot of perfection. the lemongrass prawns with noodles came on the table, and the smell was unique. However the taste was exceptionally satisfying, the prawns were the 'must have' of the dish.
Overall, i enjoyed the evening, and i hope to revisit again sometime. However I do recommend this restaurant to anyone whom feels in need of relaxation.

I have just had lunch with a friend at the Viet Anh cafe on Parkway and I am very disppointed with the service and the general hygiene of the place
The level of cleanliness is worse then any other place I have been to (and I include stalls at Camden Market just nearby). I incredulously watched floors and tables being cleaned with the same cloth
At the end of the meal, I passed over my debit card to pay for the meal and was informed that there was a £1 credit card charge (this being a debit card). On questioning, the manager admitted that only 30p was charged by the bank - I'm not clear what the other 70p was for?
My recommendation? there are plenty of better Asian stalls and restaurants that are cheaper, cleaner and accompanied by polite service

Loved it. Meat hot and sour soup with non-bought in spring rolls. Main of roast duck noodle soup. Very tasty, very satisfying. Date also had squid tom yum which was also delicious followed by chicken with noodles which was pretty fair. Couple of beers to accompany it and the total was well around £15 per head. It's a crowded place so maybe not the place for that initmate evening the 5/10 for atmosphere reflects the cafe ambience. Service cheerful.
Will definitely go back for a quick bite in the evening.

I've been here twice, thinking the first time might have been a one-off, not particularly good experience. But it was no better the second time. Our starters, a classical salt and chili squid and a Vietnamsese salad, were very disappointing, with the squid chewy, pale and lacking any discernible flavour. The salad was limp and lacking the traditional accompanying herbs--the dressing tasted of very little. My lemongrass prawns with noodles were OK, much better than the starters, but my dining companion's noodles tasted, very oddly, predominantly of Indian curry powder and didn't resemble anything I've ever been served in Vietnam. A really disappointing meal. I found the place uncomfortable too, with the people behind us seatd so close that they kept banging into my chair, and it was impossible to escape the conversation from the table next to us. The starters came without any plates, so we trailed food across the table, and when we asked for plates so we could share the starters, we were met with an incomprehending look. I have no idea why people would come here

This is a top, top place, excellent food, terrific value for money (hard to spend more than £10 per person) friendly and helpful staff and very swift service - you can easily eat here in 20mns if you are in a rush. There is a very good veggie selection and the menu highlights spicy dishes so you can avoid them or go for them according to your tastes. Well worth seeking out - this has to be one of the best places in London in terms of value for money. An absolute gem well worth seeking out even if you aren't in North London.

This place is brilliant! I am vietnamese and this is now my favourite viet place to eat in London. The food is fresh and authentic and is always served swiftly and with a smile. The owner is lovely, I dont know her name but shes the waitress too and always gives me great service.
I have been to all the restaurants down in Hackney and Kingsland Road, this can definitely compete alongside the best, its much better than the one in Crouch End (Khoai) which doesnt serve hardly any vietnamese dishes.
My favourites here are the fresh summer prawn rolls, the prawn and chicken pancake which comes with lettuce and you wrap it up and dip it in the unique lime and fishsauce, and the salads are all amazing, esp the lotus shoot one with prawns and chicken.
Its defintely a winner and im back every week!

I went last night with my girlfriend and thought the food pretty bad. The spring rolls were ordinary, the chicken curry had awful-quality chicken and the deep-fried fish was almost inedible. Only the home-made lemonade was worthwhile. Considering the choice in camden, I couldn't recommend it. Reading previous reviews, I'm tempted to try the pho, but life is too short, so I'll try it elsewhere. Service was friendly and timely.

I went back last weekend for a Pho fix after being dissapointed the first time.
Seems the chef has changed (i asked) and although it still wasn't brilliant, it was a whole load better.
