Had Dim Sum here yesterday for lunch and the food was delicious, impeccable and very good value. Service was very good, despite the fact the restaurant was full, I don't expect smiles, this being Chinatown, but no-one was rude and the whole experience was very enjoyable.

The food is unbelievably bad - so salty that it is impossible to eat. Also it is just no fresh. The worst I have been to.

We recently went to this restaurant for dinner for the first time and were quite dissatisfied. The staff, however, were friendly which is always pleasant when going to any restaurant so we could thoroughly enjoy our meal without any complaints. However, when we ordered boiled chicken, it was undercooked so was quickly cancelled off our meal.
When we received the bill, we were quite shocked. There were 10 of us to feed however we only ordered quite little so was speechless when the bill came to a hefty £140 - (2 plates of vegetables, 1 plate of duck, 2 lobsters(quite expensive, which is understandable), and tofu soup). Boiled rice cost us £2.50, per person which meant that is was £25 pounds for two big bowls of boiled rice. Normally, chinese tea is free in restaurants but here, it cost us £10. A rip - off and we certainly won't be coming here again.

I have been going to this restaurant for dim sum regularly for over twenty years. In all this time, it has hardly ever changed. The dim sum is excellent and the service impeccable. It may help that they all know me, and I speak Cantonese -but you only have to look around at the clientale at lunchtime, - almost all Chinese,- to know this is one of the best restaurants of its kind in ChinaTown for lunch. I have never been there for dinner.

I don't know what restaurant my fellow reviewers went to, The London China Town I experienced yesterday lunchtime was superb.
A table of 16 people for a birthday lunch. Arrived at 13.00 to friendly, attentative staff. The food was devine - fresh, crisp tasty and plenty of it. Beers were cold and flowed.
The restaurant joined in with a jolly Happy Birthday (and the staff sorted the cake)...15 of us paid £22.50 a head (including the Birthday Girl's share + tip).
To be honest - the reviews on this site nearly put me off - I won't be trusting others judgements so heavily in future.
Go and enjoy - all 16 of us certainly did.

I used to frequent London China Town when I worked up on Regent's Street. I was always pleased with the quality and authenticity of the food. The service was by the by and could be overlooked if they appeared to be struggling on any particular visit, purely because the food did them justice.
A whole different ball game a couple of years on. I had recommended the restaurant to a colleague and we were really looking forward to going. I rather wish I hadn't now. Years ago, you could ask them to tailor a dish to concoct a dish to your liking. I never once encountered an occasion when they weren't more than happy to accomodate in the past. Now, I appreciate in these economic climes that perhaps establishments are less willing to be so flexible and, you know, completely fair enough. That is to say, if they actually bother to communicate as such rather than treat the customer like they're an idiot for not sticking religiously to their menu. Be that as it may, they attempted to cook the dish to our liking. I had articulated a simple dish which was actually just a small variant on an existing meal off of the menu - something they used to cook for me all the time, as I say. The ingredients were certainly there so they had clearly understood me. Unfortunately, what we were presented with can at best be described as vile. The dish was barely lukewarm, the meat they had added was full of fat and the vegetables were raw and impossible to eat without cutting up ..but of course acquiring a knife was a challenge in itself. If I'm honest, the dish smelled as if they had just dug it out of the garbage. The other dish we ordered was overcooked so the noodles was soggy and therefore unnecessarily starchy and was, in a nutshell, equally inedible.
The service remains stark and abrupt. Sadly, typical of Chinatown, there is never a smile in sight and staff often behave as if you're imposing. As if they're doing you a favour by serving food. As if you're demanding to be fed for free. Again, prepared to ignore all that provided the food meets the standards. I grew up on Asian food, so, while I'm no professional food critic, I do tend to know my stuff where this type of food is concerned. And alas, London China Town now falls short along with so many others.

First time visiting china town area and picked the Chinatown restaurant because of the reviews. I visited on a Saturday around 2pm and got the chef special set menu for £18.50 each. Staff had no personality (or manners) and served the food at breakneck speed - the fact we were still eating the starters didn't prevent them from serving the duck(aren't they supposed to show us the duck before shredding? No chance in this place) and then the same again for the main (which the cleared up whilst we were still eating!!) I've never been more rushed in a restaurant ever! It wasn't even as though it was that busy either. Food isn't bad but you get none of the quality service I have become acustomed too at Chinese restaurants up and down the country. Chinatown is a tourist trap and all they want is your money, this restaurant is no different - certainly don't bother with this particular restaurant. £43 for 3 courses (including 2 small Chinese beers) in ane out in 45 minutes is a joke.

My wife and I dined at the restaurant twice over the Bank Holiday weekend and could not fault anything.
Service and friendliness of staff immaculate and food delicious.
Well done, we'll call again next time we are in the Piccadilly Circus area.
